Job Description
Title: DD&T Portfolio and Strategy Lead
Location: Cambridge, MA
About the role:
As a DD&T Portfolio and Strategy Lead, you will ensure that Takeda’s DD&T investments are aligned to corporate, business unit, and DD&T strategies, and are efficiently utilizing Takeda’s platform ecosystem. You will be the member of the Strategy and Portfolio team, the DD&T Portfolio and Strategy lead has two major areas of responsibility: First - Working with the Portfolio Team to manage the Data, Digital, and Technology (DD&T) portfolio of investments, and the process that governs and steers the enterprise-wide DD&T portfolio. You will enhance the DD&T value proposition by taking a portfolio view toward aligning our set of investment initiatives with key business objectives, optimizing and driving cross-enterprise collaboration. Second - You will contribute to broader DD&T strategic questions, with a focus on alignment of DD&T strategic priorities with the industry and vendor ecosystem. You will frequently coordinate with platform owners and others across DD&T, as well as current strategic partners, to drive high-value relationships.
How you will contribute:
Partner with portfolio managers, finance business partners, platform team members, and stakeholders across BU/BF DD&Ts to optimize the portfolio process through utilization of ATP and related tooling.
Work with the Portfolio Team to ensure smooth data collection and transfer of initiative information into project management systems.
Drive analysis of the DD&T investment portfolio, deriving key insights to drive leadership discussion and decision making, enabling investment decisions based on the success of minimum viable products (MVPs), roadmaps, and objectives & key results.
Escalate strategic and transformational projects for discussion at DD&T and Takeda strategic forums, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Facilitate leadership discussions around emerging strategic DD&T topics for awareness or support, including working across DD&T to integrate these into ongoing digital strategy development.
Work with current vendors and SIs to maximize value delivery to Takeda, and identify new strategic vendors who can bring high value to Takeda and DD&T.
Work across the Portfolio Team, DD&T strategy and operations leads, finance business partners, and others to ensure consistency and clarity of initiative data.
Work closely with platform owners and enterprise architects to understand Takeda’s DD&T tech stack, for identification of portfolio consolidation opportunities as well as developing perspectives on current and potential vendor relationships.
Drive periodic (e.g., quarterly) and ad hoc analyses of the DD&T investment portfolio to understand and improve strategic alignment and delivery efficiency, with focus on leadership reporting and consolidation.
Ensure a coordinated view of the DD&T investment portfolio across various forums, including portfolio reviews, DD&T leadership team meetings, and discussions outside DD&T.
Stay current on emerging DD&T trends, platform and service features, and business model developments to ensure Takeda is partnering for high value delivery.
What you bring to Takeda:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Life Sciences, Business, or related subject.
Minimum 8+ years of information management and/or related work experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical industry, IT/management consulting, or related field.
Experience with IT projects: Experience with IT projects from start to end. Strong knowledge of information management, data quality, data constraints and Governance Frameworks.
Understanding of strategic issues facing the technology industry, from a technical, financial, and regulated industry perspective.
Understanding of pharmaceutical value chain, product life cycle, and strategic issues facing the pharmaceutical industry, and how technology is/can be applied to streamlining key processes.
Strong communication skills: Ability to collaborate, communicate and influence effectively and consistently with stakeholders with various levels of technical backgrounds and leadership levels.
Team-oriented. Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at verbal, written, and slide-based communication.
Enterprise thinking: Understanding of Takeda’s strategic direction, staying informed with organizational initiatives and priorities.
Flexibility and resilience: Ability to adapt quickly to change, interest in learning new things, and ability to work with/through ambiguity.
IT Skills: Office 365 suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams etc.; familiarity and experience with Apptio Target Process and PowerBI desired.

Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$177,000.00 - $278,080.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
