The Global Oncology Forecasting & Analytics (GOFA) team at Takeda Oncology is part of the Global Oncology Insights and Analytics (GI&A) group, a strategic advisory group within Takeda Oncology that drives global strategic decisions and commercial business planning across Takeda Oncology. The primary responsibility of the Associate Director (AD) is to contribute to the success of the global commercial forecasting & analytics function by being a key partner for the senior leadership team in the Takeda Oncology business unit. The AD will proactively provide strategic thought-leadership on the commercial strategy for Takeda Oncology’s key pipeline assets working with Takeda Oncology Global Marketing and business unit heads (both at Cambridge, MA and globally). They will lead the conceptualization, development and refinement of best in class forecasting and analytics capabilities, owning and communicating the long-term outlook and vision for Takeda Oncology’s most important early stage assets as well as assets to be evaluated for in-licensing, partnership or potential acquisition. The AD will lead the definition and organization of forecasting methodology and calculations in collaboration with various cross-functional teams such as marketing, finance, value and access, insights, competitive analysis etc. by providing analytical support through building new / improving existing dynamic patient flow models. They will work in collaboration with various country based forecasting and insights teams, by providing strategic thought-leadership on various aspects of the planning process


  • Lead design, development and implementation of Oncology forecast models & tracking globally; proactively identify new data sources that will enhance decision making & increase forecast accuracy.

  • Lead presentation and explanation of modeling assumptions to key global stakeholders including senior leadership and triangulate assumptions with other data and forecasting models to pressure test, develop “what if” scenarios.

  • Lead design and implementation of best-in-class forecast modeling approaches; work with supplier partners, foster strong partnerships in the context of resources, timing and overall goals.

  • Lead Integration of forecasting efforts & insights with primary research, competitive intelligence, & analytics insights co-developed with peers across the GI&A and translate into business impact.



  • BA/BS degree,

  • Advanced degree preferred.


  • Minimum of 7 years (or advanced degree and five years) of relevant experience in forecasting, market research, or business analytics in the biopharmaceutical industry or other such similar industries.

  • Experience with advanced spreadsheets, patient based forecast modeling including dynamic patient flow models

  • Product launch and Global experience

  • Pipeline and BD forecasting and analytics experience

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Forecasting for rare disease and/or oncology

  • Broad working knowledge of commonly used biopharmaceutical industry databases

  • Working knowledge of global access and reimbursement policies, competitive environment and potential impact on product development and commercialization strategy

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment, including external vendors

  • Working with offshore based teams

  • Strong project management skills—ability to plan, organize and execute multiple projects efficiently, on time and within budget

  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills

  • Ability to explain complex concepts to stakeholders in simple language and lead/drive consensus building

  • Demonstrated analytical skills combined with a client-service mindset

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically to drive key business decisions
