As a Functional Lead - Application Maintenance Services working on the IT Team, you will be empowered to manage a global group of employees, vendors, consultants, and /or contractors responsible for a department function, process or project with moderate complexity and risk. In this role, you will contribute to Takeda’s mission by leading service delivery of application maintenance and outsourcing operations and support leadership team in establishing and following global processes. A typical day will include:

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • Manage a global group of employees, vendors, consultants, and /or contractors responsible for a department function, process or project with moderate complexity and risk
  • Lead service delivery of application maintenance and outsourcing operations and support leadership team in establishing and following global processes

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Interface with key solution vendors, and extract maximum value of vendor relationships on behalf of Takeda
  • Estimates approximate workload requirements associated with groups of tasks that include several to many people
  • Manage transfer of IT services between vendors, and between internal resources and vendors
  • Liaison between IT groups and Vendors, in conducting everyday operations, and resolve issues
  • Risk identification, prevention and management
  • Prioritize requests and demands, and plan resources accordingly
  • Supervise service operations by reviewing reports against contract Key Performance
  • Indicators (KPIs), and taking corrective actions
  • Management responsibility for various programs that includes matrix management of multidisciplinary, cross-functional team members across Takeda globally
  • Responsible for all work decisions directly impacting department; seeks senior managers input on work decisions that impact other areas
  • Generate collaboration, cooperation and communication across IS/IT groups as needed
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, including new approaches and processes to benefit the organization
  • Envisions new solutions to accomplish strategic IS/IT initiatives

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor degree
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, especially in R&D, is a plus
  • Experience with application support, development, maintenance and outsourcing operations
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Must be capable of creating effective reports, charts and presentations to various levels, including senior leadership team
  • Strong bidirectional communication skills to have effective interaction with internal and external team members composed of diverse backgrounds
  • Proven success in reducing operating costs
  • Strong negotiation, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational change management (OCM) skills
  • Fast learner and self-motivated, working independently but seek management support and guidance as needed
  • Ability to work with global teams in different time zones
  • Self-motivated and highly organized for accomplishment
  • Ability to write and speak in the English language
  • Ability to analyze a wide variety of data and make appropriate decisions
  • Desire to put people first and demonstrate the values of Takeda-ism

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • ITIL Expert certificate is a plus

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Domestic and occasionally international travel may be required
