As an Associate Director, Managed Markets Analytics working on the Managed Markets team, you will be empowered to create and manage analytics and data insights that will improve Takeda’s ability to deliver meaningful insights, and a typical day will include:


  • Provide the account team with account-level analytics and insights to increase their effectiveness in achieving overall account objectives and leverage data to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Managed Markets department
  • Leverage and analyze multiple data sources that will allow the organization to deliver meaningful insights with key accounts
  • Serve as cross-functional liaison for Managed Markets to influence operations, product, and policy through innovative and informed analytics focused on our key accounts
  • Manage data analytics and reporting that support the optimal execution of Takeda’s contracting strategies and demonstrate how to integrate and consume both secondary data and customer supplied rebate claims data
  • Partner with pricing and payer analytics to ensure strategic projects and business cases are well informed and linked to account level strategies and data


  • Support teams in developing forecasts and conducting analytics using models to optimize negotiation strategies
  • Participate in cross functional design teams to develop improved analytics, benchmarks, and reporting tools to optimize performance value-based programs
  • Assist, train and educate team members on data acquisition, transformation, data reconciliation and presentation related to MM performance
  • Consulting with managed markets account team to develop metrics for identifying opportunities that improve geographic and/or account performance
  • Assist in developing business information management and reporting metrics, techniques, tools, and systems. Evaluate and receive new and relevant data sources, data mining, business information and analytical approaches
  • Ensuring seamless integration between collaboration with Commercial Operations departments, specifically Pricing and Payer analytics to improve analytical and operational efficiencies, and provide strategic insight
  • Lead monitoring of account level data and provide account managers with insight to shape overall negotiation strategies
  • Integrate data and information from various sources to feed account analysis, reporting, scorecards, etc.
  • Develop business presentations as needed to support projects associated with Takeda initiatives including new drug launches, market place changes, and targeted channel marketing activities
  • Provide monthly data and insights to USBU business leaders


  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8+ years of analytical/pharmaceutical experience, or equivalent or advanced degree in an analytical field such as statistics, operations research, computer science, industrial engineering, economics, math, etc. and 3+ of analytical experience or equivalent
  • Proven ability to distill complex information into concise and impactful messages/presentations. Proven ability to influence the development of IT systems required to support analytic data consumption
  • Extensive understanding of government and commercial insurance environment and process for covering rare disease products
  • Understanding the implications of contract and market access strategies
  • Ability to collaborate, listen, and anticipate individual needs of supported franchises
  • Expertise with variety of databases and software used to generate analytics and insights
  • Previous experience interfacing with pharmaceutical related customers
    SAP/Data Warehouse systems accompanied by some programming experience, SAS or SQL (or R or Python)
  • Proficient with a variety of software applications (e.g., SAS/Base, SQL, ProClarity, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MapPoint, SharePoint) to effectively perform functions of this role
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative analysis with strong ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex analytical projects
  • Relationship management skills to develop working relationships in support of Business units
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint is required. Experience with tools such as R, SAS, Microsoft Access, Qlik/dataviz software is a plus
  • Experience with IMS PlanTrak, IMS FIA, Fingertip Formulary, Symphony, specialty pharmacy, patient service, MarketScan, MMIT and other healthcare databases are a plus


  • Ability to travel 20% and Periodic overnight travel may be required.
