Job Description

At Takeda, be part of a culture where teamwork and collaboration reign. Join a company that is just as employee focused as it is on its customers and is consistently awarded for both.

About The Team:

We are looking for an experienced and driven DevOps engineer to join the Global Manufacturing & Supply / Global Quality Data, Digital & Technology (GMS/GQ DD&T) team. We are a small team, so you should be prepared to roll up your sleeves and flex a wide variety of skills. A good candidate will have a proven ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities, manage through ambiguity, while keeping focus on must-win initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with Global Quality (GQ) organization to identify opportunities to drive efficiencies in existing product lifecycle processes, from research and development to commercialization

  • Translate concepts and requirements into user flows, wireframes, MVPs, and prototypes that lead to better user experiences

  • Effectively communicate results and recommendations to cross-functional teams and senior leadership

  • Work in an agile, rapid development and prototyping environment

  • Hands-on development of conversational AI solutions

  • Lead and execute on proof of concepts and pilots (or prototypes)

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with different back-end and front-end engineering teams

  • Design and develop test automation, and potential scaling roadmap

  • Stay connected to Takeda’s Global Data & Technology (GDT) function, and leverage enterprise systems, platforms, and capabilities, whenever possible

  • Be a solid team player with no direct reports, and have a strong ability to influence others

  • Work with data scientists, engineers, and analysts to drive improvements in code quality

  • Lead production support triage meetings

  • Measure and track initiatives, using agile methods where possible

Skills and Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience demonstrating strong engineering and professional leadership

  • Experience in applying and executing Digital / Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning / Natural Language Processing algorithms, with respective programming knowledge

  • Experience with creating virtual assistants and chatbots, or Robotic Process Automation tools

  • Ability to make recommendations and guide other engineers on how to remove technical road-blocks

  • Skilled in agile product development and expert user of Jira, Confluence, Miro, Databricks, Python, Spark, and Hive

  • Enjoys teaching others who are less knowledgeable about the latest industry trends and technologies

  • Experience in biopharmaceutical or manufacturing industry, is a plus

Where You Will Be:

  • We have a hybrid working environment

  • Primary office location for this role will be Lexington / Cambridge MA

  • We are a global organization with many colleagues in the US Eastern and Central European time zones

  • Some travel internationally is possible (estimated 1 travel every 6 months for 1 week)
