As a member of Analytical Development Structure Characterization team, Research Investigator/ Scientistwill work on LC/MS related method development and characterization of in-process samples, drug substance, drug product and reference standards for Takeda biological programs.  Responsibilities include designing experiments, execution of experimental studies, documenting results accurately in the laboratory notebooks, writing and reviewing LC/MS technical reports, generating test methods to support testing groups, participate in analytical, process development meetings and discussions.


  • Design and execute LC/MS experiments for biologics characterization, 80%

  • Write protocols, reports, and regulatory filing, 10%

  • Present data to cross-functional teams and provide training to junior scientist as needed.


Education Requirements: 

  • Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related discipline

  • Fresh Ph.D. with LC/MS training, 0+ year industry experience

  • MS with 2+ years and BS with 4+ years in LC/MS application after graduation


  • In-depth knowledge biological mass spectrometry (intact mass, peptide mapping for proteins) including both theory and practice is required

  • Knowledge in glycoprotein characterization

  • Experienced in mass spectrometers operation and troubleshooting, e.g Orbitrap, Q-TOF

  • Familiar with LC/MS data processing software, for example, Protein Matrix, Biopharma Finder

  • Experienced in microscale protein sample handling and preparation

  • Experiences in mass spectrometer maintenance

  • Enthusiastic in learning new technology and application in biologics characterization

  • Ability to work successfully in both a team/matrix environment as well as independently

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
