Job Description


  • Lead the global S&OP processes for a portfolio of products (covering multiple operating units and technologies) from late stage product development to end of product lifecycle.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to establish transparent insights on demand and supply to meet patient demand and achieve Takeda’s strategic goals as well as performance KPI’s

  • Ensure organizational adoption of Takeda’s Global S&OP operating and governance models.


Facilitate and participate in regular S&OP meetings within responsibility and assure governance and issue resolution.

  • Identify supply and demand issues (and gaps to plan), identify scenarios to mitigate, prepare recommendations and facilitate escalation to Executive level decision makers.
  • Collaborate with Master Planners to prepare scenario plans for S&OP trade-off discussions
  • Document and communicate key actions and decisions to drive organizational alignment.
  • Collaborate with Demand Planning & Supply Planning process owners to ensure best practice is performed across all markets and regions following S&OP Planning calendar.
  • Ensure monthly supply review process is performed at respective producing plants, CMOs and regions according to the guidelines.
  • Champion the benefits of system usage (IBP, APO etc...) and continually drive adoption throughout the organization.


Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Advanced presentation and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of supply chain planning principles and strategies.
  • Ability to “simplify the complex” and develop scenarios and recommendations to optimally resolve issues and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Advanced Planning Systems, ERP systems and analytical tools (SAP/APO, BI)
  • Understanding of the principles of Lean and Six Sigma applied to Supply Chain
  • Basic knowledge on regulations (FDA, PMDA, EMA, CHMP…)


  • Work with Stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Build and Lead cross functional teams and ensure PTRB values at the center of decision making.
  • Elevate capabilities among others and be an S&OP role model


  • Commercial BU functions and leadership teams
  • GMS Leadership team
  • OpU Leadership functions including Supply Chain leaders
  • Plant supply chain functions and leadership teams
  • Product Launch Teams and GPT’s
  • Finance – Commercial, GMS


Continuous improvement of SC planning processes

  • External Benchmarking and application of industry best practices to Takeda S&OP process.


Global role that involves working with all Geographical regions and Manufacturing Organizations. Ability to understand cultural and organizational differences is key to build effective relationships.



  • Bachelor’s Degree (Technical Discipline preferred)
  • Advanced pharmaceutical business knowledge (10+ years of experience)
  • Advanced presentation and communication skills
  • Understanding of continuous improvement concepts
  • Knowledge on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Distribution Practice (GDP)
  • Fluent in English both verbally and in writing


  • Masters Degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Operations, Life Sciences
  • Knowledge and experience of Advanced Planning Systems, ERP systems and analytical tools (SAP/APO, BI)
