Job Description

JOB FUNCTION

  • The role will support the creation and execution of communication strategies that align with the corporate business objectives and plans and reinforce the reputation and brand of Takeda.

  • The role is primarily responsible for supporting the creation and implementation of LOC communication strategies and materials including executive leadership communication, internal communication platform, external media participation, including product communication, quarterly investor relations input and administration and corporate digital communication including the website and social nets profile. It is also responsible for maintaining the strategic link between businesses needs and communication activities in the LOC.

The role is primarily responsible for responsible for Communication Consultancy and Coordination of the internal and external communications contacts.

Accountabilities

  • Promote the creation of a cohesive site culture, establishing and nurturing site relations and relations within the broader Takeda company to generate connections with colleagues and share learnings that will support Takeda’s global success
  • Ensure that patient centricity is core to all communications activities being implemented
  • Oversee internal and external communications for the site, including the intranet, identifying solutions to ensure regular and timely updates are made (either working with an agency or staff member)
  • Manage and work in partnership with relevant associated agencies
  • Support all facets of the business to maintain the integrity of the corporate brand and ensuring all usage of the brand (whether external or internal) complies with company guidelines
  • Ensure all communications materials and activities comply with Takeda operating procedures and the relevant industry regulations including the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) Codes of Practice
  • Responsible for securing the implementation of a strong culture in line with the company values and supervises the Corporate Social Responsibility actions.
  • Communicate forward-thinking digital marketing strategies and best practices to all internal functions that help teams improve business performance.

Primary responsibilities breakdown:      

Communication

  • Serve as liaison with EUCAN Corporate Communications to ensure local strategy aligns with regional objectives.
  • Mitigate risk by nurturing strong relationships with key external stakeholders including media, industry professional groups, payers/commissioning bodies, clinicians, academia/research bodies, patient groups (where applicable) politicians and authorities
  • Support key outward facing functions such as Medical, Public Affairs and Market Access to position medical, scientific and social-economic value of Takeda’s innovations
  • Support the General Manager and senior leadership team with considered counsel on reputation-related matters and leading issues preparations and response
  • Support all facets of the business to maintain the integrity of the corporate brand and ensuring all usage of the brand (whether external or internal) complies with company guidelines
  • Govern social, media and environmental listening and support digital innovation to encourage best practice digital engagement across the region
  • Ensure all communications materials and activities comply with Takeda operating procedures and the relevant local regulations
  • Be our member of Farmaindustria, communication working group.

Communications planning

Drive internal corporate brand building across the site, to enhance and reinforce company positioning and reputation among employees, via:

  • Developing strategic internal and external programs that are realistic in scope and drive clear and measurable awareness of the company’s vision, values and key business initiatives
  • Creating and developing associated communication plans that align with the company strategy, ensuring that the approach of ‘putting patients at the center’ is integral to communications activities
  • Maintaining two-way dialogue with key internal stakeholders to manage the input of their needs into developing plans and in turn to generate advocacy for the company’s activities, thereby building trust and reinforcing the company’s reputation

Media relations:

Lead the press office function as it relates to corporate communications around the Takeda brand in the local area.

  • Acting as first point of contact for media enquiries relating to Takeda’s corporate presence
  • Coordinating internal media spokespeople for any journalist enquiries and issues
  • Liaising with external spokespeople, such as patients/PAGs/KOLs to provide comment to journalists as required
  • Maintaining working relationships with influential corporate and health journalists
  • Monitoring outcomes against measurable objectives and indication e.g. media coverage, social media conversations, content analysis, website analytics and sharing all relevant coverage with internal cross-functional stakeholders

Issues management and crisis preparation

Proactively mitigate risk, managing any crisis situation and/or issues that might arise via:

  • Continuous environmental monitoring (traditional and social / digital media)
  • Competitive intelligence gathering
  • Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders to identify emerging issues
  • Working with area leaders in the development, testing and maintenance of a live crisis response plan, involving planning for the resources required to adhere to it and ensuring the communication to all necessary functions

Corporate Social Responsibility actions

  • Supervises the activities undertaken in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility.
