  • Responsible for designing in vitro pharmacology strategies in support of multi-modality projects
  • Executes in vitro assays to drive hit identification, optimization and characterization using cell- and biochemical-based approaches
  • Develops innovative science and technologies to advance portfolio projects  


  • Play a key role in designing in vitro pharmacology strategies in support of oligonucleotide, peptide and small molecule projects
  • Design, optimize and perform in vitro assays to drive hit identification, characterization and SAR during lead optimization
  • Manages external FTEs and transfers and troubleshoots methods at CROs.
  • Initiates investigation of new experimental approaches to a wide range of problems using
    scientific theory and technical literature
  • Contributes to functional problem resolution and objective setting
  • Interprets results of complex experiments, and integrates data produced by other disciplines
  • Contributes to functional scientific discussion


Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrates strong background in cell biology, assay development and screening technology
  • Experience in RNAi screening preferred
  • Broad technical expertise in qPCR, FACS, imaging, ELISA, HTRF, western blotting, etc
  • Practical experience in laboratory automation (liuqid handling) and data anlaysis software
  • Excellent knowledge of related disciplines such as biochemical and biophsyical techniques
  • Acts as the recognized scientific resource on an aspect of a program
  • Demonstrates effective project engagement skills


  • Identifies, plans and executes novel scientific projects and may manage the work of others a direct or matrixed structure

  • Receives high level instructions on all work, determines methods on new assignments, works closely with manager, may manage junior staff


  • PhD degree in cell biology/cell pharmacology/chemical biology with 2+ years experience , or
  • MS with 8+ years experience, or
  • BS with 10+ years experience
