Job Description
OBJECTIVES :
- Identify, develop deploy strategic initiatives to enable the growth and profitability of the vaccine business such as new market entries, launch sequencing and/or new customer segments or channels
- Leading key commercial projects across APAC, ICMEA, China
- Working in close collaboration with other key stakeholders in the GEM areas and LOCs on strategic projects with impact on global vaccine access
- Adherence to Takeda corporate governance and industry code of conduct; alignment with the values and vision of Takeda; ensuring all programs are compliant with Takeda business practices
ACCOUNTABILITIES :
- Identify, develop and ensure implementation of strategic initiatives that can enable growth of the business
- Understand and analyze business needs and translate into strategies and implementation plans
- Ensure alignment between evolving business needs and vaccine commercialization objective
- Identify and assess the commercial opportunities, emerging vaccination trends, new channels and segments
- Identify innovative options and/or multiple solutions and exercising foresight and judgement in highly complex problems
- Ensure effective utilization of existing business systems and support\
- Appropriately characterize business objectives and clear decision-making to be able to develop and implement complex initiatives and strategies across the organization
- Ensure successful launch sequencing and provide comprehensive assessment for potential gaps and future synergistic opportunities to launch/grow the vaccine within the areas
- Lead or participate in strategic projects that can include but not limited to : new market entries/marketing channels or segments; interaction across multiple functional organization; patient development programs in collaboration with other functional teams
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS :
- Requires extensive commercial experience (7-10 years) including managerial experience in diverse roles
- MBA or Degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related science preferred
- Vaccine experience and comprehensive understanding of vaccines industry dynamics
- Ability to work with complex scientific information in conjunction with internal colleagues as well as external key opinion leaders
- Previous experience at regional / country level preferred
- The ability to lead and significantly contribute to cross-functional teams across geographies by building collaboration and alignment, motivating and empowering others to maximize milestone achievements
- Excellent presentation, analytical and communication skills (both written and oral)
- Capable of taking a position of facilitation or leadership in team or project settings. Ability to guide and coach others, especially team members towards task achievement
- Ability to create clear, compelling vision and business strategies that guide sound program development and significantly advance the financial health, growth and competitive advantage
- Understand necessary depth and detail required to drive actions and decisions and efficiently progress projects to completion
- Flexible with regard to changing and conflicting priorities, able to easily shift gears in terms of behaviour and attitude in response to ambiguity and the needs of the situation
- Intellectual rigor and flexibility/tenacity to manage design trade-offs; evidence of innovation, problem-solving and structured thinking skills
- Acts independently on self-initiated projects; leverages knowledge from others related to overall objectives, strategy, critical issues and policy matters
- Self-motivated and flexible with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, problem-solving environment
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS :
- Willingness to travel to various sites for meetings, site visits
