Role Description:

This position joins a team responsible of global corporate managerial financial reporting which supports management decision by providing financial insights and analysis, developing accurate and timely financial data with short-term forecast.

This role collaborates closely with divisional finance counterparts, consolidation finance groups and IR to support the global corporate managerial reporting, ensuring clear visibility into actual performance and forecasts.

Develops standard reports and performs statistic, variance analysis which is prepared both in English (primary) and Japanese. Manage monthly/quarterly reporting process aligned with external reporting and disclosures.

  • Responsible for corporate managerial financial reporting and analysis including the financial forecast.

  • Delivers high quality financial reporting by both English (primary) and Japanese with analysis and decision support to Head of Analysis & Management Reporting.

  • Promotes, organize, and improves financial documentation.

  • Supports Head of Analysis & Management Reporting for evaluating the financial process, identifying gaps or efficiency opportunities, and proposing solutions to enhance better workstream.

  • Build consensus by communication with divisional finance (mainly located overseas) including KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), performance and quality metrics etc

Education & Experience – Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, including well-rounded coursework in other disciplines.

  • At least 3 years in financial reporting and analysis roles.

  • Professional level English as well as native Japanese (More than 2 years of financial experience with frequent English communication).

  • Strong analytical skills with global mind-set.

  • Strong computer software skills (Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education & Experience – Desired:

  • CPA preferred

  • MBA or MS in Finance or Accounting.

  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or healthcare setting

Skills:

  • Communication – ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written, in a persuasive, organized and appropriate manner, including running meetings and preparing presentations for customer groups.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Manager.  Ability to “push back” in a respectful manner and to present “unpopular” ideas and messages when necessary.

  • Analytical – ability to analyze financial and operational data to derive useful insights.  Ability to interpret and question data inputs from various sources.

  • Process Orientation – ability to define and manage effective processes that balance simplicity and utility.

  • Management – ability to anticipate needs and deliver analyses and reports that allow manager to proactively address issues and opportunities.

  • Customer Service Orientation – ability to gain trust of high-level management and leverage relationships to provide best possible analyses of corporate performance.

  • Teamwork – ability to work effectively in and foster a team environment. Ability to be flexible, accommodating, and to deal with change effectively.
