Job Description

KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

As a Technology Partner on the DD&T Department you will be empowered to :

  • Serves as bridge and connector between Canada-specific internal/external customer needs and high impact, scalable technology solutions.

  • Accelerates Tech capabilities in support of Takeda’s vision to become the most trusted, science-based, digital biopharma company.

  • Serves as coach and change catalyst with focus on humanizing technology, empowering people and accelerating digital capability building.

  • Develops, strengthens and leverages strong ties to internal and external innovation and technology community.

DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Partners cross-functionally to bridge digital leverage points in patient and customer journeys with technology within or outside Takeda.

  • Builds, strengthens and leverages networks in healthcare and technology eco-system in close coordination with cross-functional partners.

  • Collaborates closely with DD&T Head and Leads to manage project intake process (LOC/EUCAN/GPD), prioritize technology projects, and drive process excellence for DD&T.

  • Acts as a connector for technical support and triaging across local DD&T capabilities and rest of organization together with Technology Specialist

  • Drives process optimization and tool simplification (e.g. Robotic Process Automation, Power Automate Application Development)

  • Supports local implementation and adoption of EDB, HIVE, PowerBi, ensuring consistency among Tech solutions

Leadership

  • Consistently lives and models Takeda-ism, PTRB, and leadership behaviors as member of Canadian DD&T Leadership Team.

  • Leads Canada Technology Specialist, managing performance, and serving as coach for wider organization to empower our people, embed growth mindset.

  • Serves as member of EUCAN DD&T Council to drive operationalization of Takeda technology

  • Models cross-functional engagement with relentless internal and external customer focus, as well as acute awareness of environmental trends and disruption in healthcare technology.

  • Serves as coach and change catalyst to humanize technology, empower people and accelerate digital capability building.

  • Serves as Ambassador and thought leader to inspire and drive innovation in LOC and EUCAN.

Decision-making and Autonomy

  • As part of Canadian DD&T Leadership Team and EUCAN DD&T Council, provides insights and guidance to inform and/or make decisions related to Digital and Technology.

  • Manages expense budget as set together with DD&T Head and Finance.

  • Defines and manages Tech-related performance metrics in coordination with DD&T/BusOps

Interaction

  • Acts as trusted partner and solution provider for commercial and medical teams.

  • Develops, strengthens and leverages strong ties to internal and external innovation and technology community.

  • Provides thought leadership, insights and guidance to Canadian Leadership Team and EUCAN

  • Supports Business and People Transformation initiatives as DD&T “squad” member in close coordination with EUCAN, DD&T team, BusOps, L&D.

  • Liaises with TechOps1 resources where applicable

Innovation

  • Drives implementation and adoption of new tools / platforms and updates to existing technology such asTodai, Takeda Connect and AIML Dx solutions.

  • Continuously scans environment for sources of disruption to current business model as well as innovation opportunities addressing specific customer needs.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • University degree and min. 10 years of experience with commercial IT/technology support, ideally in healthcare/pharmaceuticals.

  • Exceptional leadership, influencing and communication skills

  • In-depth understanding of the stakeholders in Canadian healthcare, the digital health ecosystem, and pharmaceutical business model.

  • Proven ability to combine entrepreneurial mindset e.g. from healthcare startup venture, with management of complex set of stakeholders at local and regional levels in global organization.

  • Strong leadership skills to ensure successful implementation of activities

  • Bi-lingualism (EN/FR) an advantage.
