For our Rare Disease team in Norway, we are looking for a Business Unit Director who will drive the BU’s strategical and operational success.
ROLE OBJECTIVE
Shape the Vision & Strategy: Define and drive the strategic direction of the Rare Disease Business Unit, setting bold goals and ensuring the successful execution of brand and key account plans.
Inspire High-Performing Teams: Lead and empower cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional patient and customer experiences, exceed stakeholder expectations, and establish Takeda as a best-in-class leader in our markets.
Drive Commercial Excellence: Develop and implement innovative sales and marketing strategies that fuel business growth and performance, with full P&L accountability for the Business Unit.
Lead with Integrity: Operate in full compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate standards, while supporting the General Manager in achieving broader organizational objectives.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategic and Financial Leadership
Fully accountable for the Rare Disease BU’s performance in Norway, including P&L ownership, strategic planning, and execution across current and future products. Develops and aligns financial forecasts, brand strategies, and commercial plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams.Cross-Functional Execution and Market Development
Leads the implementation of integrated sales, marketing, medical, and access strategies. Translates high-level strategies into actionable tactics, ensuring seamless execution through both direct reports and cross-functional teams. Drives market expansion through innovative commercial and educational programs.Customer and Stakeholder Engagement
Builds and maintain strong relationships with key customers, KOLs, scientific societies, and patient advocacy groups. Champions a customer- and patient-centric mindset across the organization, ensuring that insights from the field inform strategic decisions and initiatives.Sales Force and Key Account Management
Designs and oversees the in-field team structure and customer engagement model, including targeting, segmentation, and multichannel orchestration. Develops KAM capabilities and fosters a value-based account management culture. Sets and monitors KPIs for sales force effectiveness and customer experience.Team Leadership and Talent Development
Leads, coaches, and develops a high-performing commercial team. Partners with HR and the GM to recruit, retain, and grow talent, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and continuously improving work environment.Operational Excellence and Compliance
Ensures efficient resource allocation, budget adherence, and process optimization. Monitors performance metrics, competitor activity, and market dynamics to inform tactical adjustments. Upholds internal policies, quality standards, and legal requirements.Regional and Global Collaboration
Represents the BU in regional and global forums, contributing to international strategy development. Shares best practices and insights across countries and functions to elevate organizational capabilities and performance.
SKILLS AND LEADERSHIP CAPABILITIES
Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial roles, ideally within the pharma / biotech or healthcare environment
Experience in managing P&L or responsibility for a large budget and sales
Brand management experience and understanding environment and business model for BU brands
Solid understanding of the business model, treatment pathways and the market environment of the BU
Has successfully led a cross-functional team at local or regional level
Experience in a customer-facing role and proficiency in delivering a KAM business model
Launch experience preferred
