About the role:
The BOT Developer is accountable for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support reliable delivery across business and technology functions.
The role focuses on building scalable automation frameworks using Python, RPA, and AI-based solutions, while ensuring alignment with SDLC, GxP processes, and enterprise delivery standards. The BOT Developer will work closely with development, testing, support, and business teams to identify automation opportunities, understand pain points, and deliver practical automation solutions.
In addition, the role requires strong knowledge of automation lifecycle management, CI/CD integration, version control, and continuous improvement practices to ensure automation solutions are maintainable, compliant, and adaptable to evolving project and technology needs.
How you will contribute:
• Collaborate with internal teams including Development, Testing, Support, Business, and IT stakeholders to brainstorm, identify, and prioritize key areas for automation and innovation.
• Analyze business processes, operational pain points, and repetitive manual activities to identify suitable automation opportunities and propose effective BOT-based solutions.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain automation BOTs and frameworks using Python, RPA tools, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Build scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks that adhere to SDLC standards, GxP processes, validation expectations, and enterprise engineering practices.
• Partner with business teams to understand requirements, assess feasibility, define automation scope, and translate business needs into technical automation solutions.
• Integrate automation solutions into CI/CD pipelines to enable faster, more reliable, and repeatable releases across application and platform environments.
• Work with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and GitLab CI to support automated build, test, deployment, and release activities.
• Maintain automation scripts, BOT components, libraries, test assets, and reusable frameworks in version control systems such as Git.
• Continuously enhance existing automation frameworks to support evolving technologies, changing project requirements, and improved automation coverage.
• Support automation solution design discussions, impact assessments, technical documentation, estimation, and delivery planning.
• Develop automation workflows that improve testing efficiency, operational support, deployment reliability, data processing, monitoring, and business process execution.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, regression testing, and troubleshooting for automation BOTs and related frameworks.
• Identify defects, performance issues, exceptions, and automation failures; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure automation solutions are designed with appropriate exception handling, logging, monitoring, auditability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, validation, support, and infrastructure teams to ensure automation solutions are properly deployed, monitored, and supported.
• Support regulated environment requirements by maintaining appropriate documentation, test evidence, change records, traceability, and compliance alignment where applicable.
• Participate in release management activities by supporting deployment readiness, pipeline validation, production rollout, and post-release verification.
• Recommend improvements to automation strategy, framework design, BOT governance, reusable components, and process standardization.
• Provide technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and mentoring support to junior automation developers or team members.
• Stay updated with emerging automation, RPA, AI, DevOps, and software engineering trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
• Support basic Veeva Vault-related automation or integration activities where required, including understanding platform workflows and automation possibilities.
Skills and qualifications:
• 9+ years of experience in BOT development, automation engineering, RPA development, test automation, or related technology roles.
• Strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining BOT automation solutions and automation frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python for automation scripting, framework development, data handling, API interaction, and process automation.
• Experience with RPA technologies and ability to design BOT workflows for business process automation, operational efficiency, and repetitive task elimination.
• Working experience or practical exposure to AI-enabled automation, intelligent automation, or AI-assisted BOT capabilities.
• Strong understanding of SDLC processes, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, release management, and production support.
• Good understanding of GxP processes and the importance of compliant delivery, validation documentation, traceability, audit readiness, and controlled change management.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar pipeline automation platforms.
• Experience integrating automation frameworks, BOT scripts, and test automation assets into CI/CD pipelines for faster and more reliable releases.
• Strong experience with version control systems, especially Git, including branching, merging, pull requests, code reviews, and repository management.
• Ability to collaborate with Dev, Test, Support, Business, and Operations teams to understand pain areas and convert them into automation opportunities.
• Experience in creating reusable automation components, libraries, utilities, templates, and standardized framework capabilities.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with the ability to analyze automation failures, identify root causes, and implement effective fixes.
• Experience with exception handling, logging, monitoring, reporting, and performance optimization within automation frameworks.
• Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation, automation design documents, process flows, configuration guides, test evidence, and support documentation.
• Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or hybrid delivery models with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
• Good understanding of APIs, application integrations, databases, file handling, and enterprise application workflows is preferred.
• Ability to work in regulated or validated environments with strong attention to compliance, quality, documentation, and governance expectations.
• Good communication, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment while maintaining quality, compliance, and delivery timelines.
• Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement orientation and willingness to recommend automation, simplification, and innovation opportunities.
• Basic knowledge of Veeva Vault is good to have, especially understanding of platform workflows, regulated content processes, and potential automation touchpoints.
