Job Description
OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE
We are seeking a dynamic analytics leader to join Takeda's newly established GCC Commercial Analytics & Insights (I&A) organization in India as the Data Strategy & Reporting COE Lead.
- Lead the Data Strategy & Reporting Center of Excellence within Takeda's GCC I&A organization in India, serving as the primary GCC counterpart to the US Head of Data COE and providing centralized data strategy, data product, and reporting capabilities for the US and other business units.
- Act as the trusted partner to the US Head of Data COE in the GCC — owning execution of the shared data and reporting agenda, maintaining close day-to-day alignment on priorities, standards, and deliverables, and operating as an embedded extension of the US Data COE rather than a separate function.
- Partner with US and international I&A, DD&T, Commercial Operations, and Market Access teams to turn commercial data into reliable, reusable assets that enable high‑quality analytics, reporting, and AI‑driven use cases.
- Own the strategy and roadmap for data products and reporting — including home office reporting — ensuring solutions are accurate, scalable, and aligned to priority brand and portfolio needs across all BUs.
- Build and develop India‑based data and reporting teams that operate as an embedded extension of US/Global I&A, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
US Data COE partnership and strategic alignment
- Serve as the primary GCC partner to the US Head of Data COE, operating as a 1:1 counterpart who translates US data strategy into GCC execution — aligning on priorities, maintaining shared standards, and ensuring seamless continuity across time zones.
- Proactively engage with US, OBU and international I I&A BU I&A leads across franchises to capture home office reporting requirements, ensuring that data products and dashboards accurately reflect the analytical and business needs of each brand team.
- Participate in all Data planning forums, leadership reviews, and stakeholder discussions as the GCC voice, representing the India team's capabilities, capacity, and roadmap commitments.
Data strategy and product management
- Define and maintain the enterprise data product roadmap supporting US and global I&A, spanning data acquisition, modeling, integration, and access.
- Lead design and evolution of data products (e.g., commercial data marts, semantic layers) that support analytics, self‑service reporting, and AI/ML solutions across brands.
- Coordinate with DD&T and other tech partners on architecture, platform choices, and implementation priorities, ensuring data products are secure, compliant, and cost‑effective.
Business reporting and Insights enablement
- Own the development and delivery of standardized home office, field, and portfolio reporting solutions across BUs — a distinct and expanded scope relative to the US Data COE — while allowing for therapy-area customization to meet specific brand team needs.
- Improve time‑to‑insight by streamlining data pipelines, metadata, and visualization standards so brand and analytics teams can quickly access trusted, decision-ready information.
- Define and track usage, performance, and ROI metrics for data products and reporting assets, using insights to continuously refine the roadmap and demonstrate business value.
Data governance and quality
- Implement data governance practices that ensure integrity, lineage, and appropriate use of commercial data across domains (e.g., patient, HCP, access, digital).
- Partner with the global/US Data COE, DD&T, and governance teams to align on standards, controls, and documentation, ensuring GCC practices are consistent with enterprise data policies.
- Establish data quality KPIs, monitoring, and remediation routines across key therapy areas and channels.
Talent development and COE excellence
- Build, lead, and develop India‑based pods of data engineers, data product owners, and reporting specialists dedicated to specific BUs/franchises.
- Set clear goals, ways of working, and development plans that deepen technical and business expertise in commercial data and reporting.
- Manage external vendors and partners to complement internal capabilities and flex capacity where needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
- 10+ years in data strategy, data product management, or data operations in pharmaceutical or healthcare.
- 8+ years in data architecture, data modeling, ETL, warehousing, and analytics, including exposure to commercial pharma data.
- 5+ years leading teams in a matrixed, global or GCC/offshore environment.
- Proven experience with pharmaceutical commercial data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Komodo, specialty pharmacy, market access, patient services data).
- Hands‑on experience across the full data lifecycle: requirements, design, build, testing, deployment, and change management.
Technical skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL; experience with SAS preferred; familiarity with Python/pySpark/Spark beneficial.
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Practical experience with cloud data platforms and modern data architectures (e.g., AWS, Databricks, or similar).
- Solid understanding of data governance, master data management, and privacy/compliance considerations for commercial pharma data.
- Proficiency in using AI and GenAI tools to streamline data and reporting workflows, improve data quality, and enhance insight generation.
Leadership & business competencies
- Proven ability to operate as a strategic partner to senior US leaders, translating business and brand strategies into a clear data and reporting roadmap and prioritized backlog.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders across geographies, functions, and levels — including BU I&A brand leads and technology partners.
- Experience managing large, complex initiatives using Agile and/or traditional delivery approaches, with a bias toward execution and accountability.
- Demonstrated success leading cross‑cultural teams and driving innovation, operational efficiency, and high standards of delivery in a distributed model.
