Job Description

Title: - Head of Global Capabilities Center (GCC) Insights & Analytics

Location: - Bengaluru

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE:

Takeda is seeking an exceptional Head of Global Capabilities Center (GCC) Data & Analytics to build and scale our India-based analytics organization from the ground up. As the first and most senior analytics leader in India, you will be responsible for establishing the organizational vision, designing the operating model, hiring and developing a high-performing SME team and driving innovation across commercial analytics. You will earn trust and serve as a strategic and growth mindset partner for global and local leadership, accelerating Takeda’s AI and data-driven transformation.

SCOPE:

This leader will be a member of the GCC and US/Global I&A leadership team and will be responsible for the following:

Organizational Vision & Team Building

  • Serve as the founding leader of Takeda’s Global Capabilities Center (GCC) for Insights and Analytics (I&A), responsible for defining and executing the organizational vision and strategy.
  • Design the operating model, structure, and governance for the I&A organization, ensuring alignment with Takeda’s global objectives and values.
  • Work collaboratively with Implementation / Transformation Leader to establish engagement model and change management with Business Unit (BU) I&A teams
  • Lead all aspects of team building: recruit, hire, and onboard a diverse, high-performing leadership team and analytics professionals at large scale for the enterprise.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning from day one, attracting and retaining top analytics talent.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all talent practices and organizational design.

Learning, Training & Talent Development

  • Develop and implement a robust learning and development curriculum for onboarding, upskilling, and ongoing professional growth, including pharma analytics, digital, AI, and leadership training.
  • Establish mentorship, coaching, and knowledge-sharing programs to accelerate team capability and engagement.
  • Ensure new hires are rapidly trained and integrated into Takeda’s culture and ways of working.

Performance Management & Culture

  • Design and implement performance management systems, including goal setting, feedback, recognition, and career progression frameworks aligned with Takeda’s standards.
  • Set clear expectations for excellence, accountability, and results orientation across the organization.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.

Portfolio & Project Management

  • Establish and oversee a comprehensive portfolio management framework to prioritize, resource, and deliver high-impact data and analytics projects across commercial domains.
  • Implement best-in-class project management practices, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery and measurable business impact.
  • Monitor and report on project portfolio health, risks, and outcomes to global and regional stakeholders.
  • Accountable for delivering measurable business impact across global markets and influencing enterprise priorities.
  • Own financial planning and resource allocation for GCC, ensuring needs of business are met

Data Leadership

  • Set and lead the GCC data strategy and operating model ensuring alignment with priorities of DD&T and I&A.
  • Support data product strategy, governance, etc., ensuring scalable and high quality data assets to enable analytics, reporting, forecasting, and AI/ML ‑quality data assets to enable analytics,
  • Drive harmonization of data standards, lineage, quality frameworks, and metadata practices across BUs to ensure consistent data.
  • Partner with BU data and analytics leaders to integrate GCC into the enterprise data & analytics ecosystem, shaping platform evolution, architectural decisions, and future state data models.‑state data models.
  • Support transformation initiatives to harmonize data operations, leveraging automation, standardized processes, reusable assets, and analytics ready data structures.‑ready data structures.

Analytics Domain Leadership

  • Build and lead a world-class commercial analytics organization responsible for delivering high-impact solutions.
  • Drive innovation in analytics methodologies, including advanced data visualization.
  • Oversee the generation of actionable insights by integrating results from various I&A domains
  • Interface with BU and country analytics teams to co-create delivery models, share best practices, and ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.
  • Gradually build and scale teams and processes to support the development of capabilities in decision science, forecasting, market access, sales operations, primary market research, competitive intelligence, and other analytical adjacencies
  • Lead the implementation and scaling of AI/ML solutions and drive commercial use cases utilizing Gen AI and Agentic AI that drive business value
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and digital-first thinking across the analytics organization.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in AI, data science, and digital analytics, ensuring Takeda remains at the forefront of industry advancements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Global Collaboration

  • Act as a key interface between GCC analytics teams and BUs ensuring seamless integration and alignment of analytics and data management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with global and local teams to deliver analytics projects that drive business value and support Takeda’s mission.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry forums to keep Takeda at the forefront of analytics, AI, and digital innovation.

DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS:

Key Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Analytics, or related field); MBA or PhD preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in analytics, data science, or related fields, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles managing large, multi-layered teams in pharma.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling analytics organizations (ideally from inception), including hiring and developing leadership teams.
  • Deep expertise in commercial data & analytics functions including forecasting, market access, sales operations, market research and competitive intelligence
  • Experience designing and implementing learning and development programs for large (250 plus) analytics teams
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to influence at the executive level.
  • Demonstrated success in global, matrixed environments and cross-cultural leadership.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with the Indian talent landscape and regulatory environment is a plus.
  • High level of proficiency in Artificial Intelligence, with demonstrated expertise in establishing GenAI (Generative AI) and Agentic AI methodologies and solutions.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional travel to US, Europe, Japan and other global sites for stakeholder engagement, as required
