ICC Digital Ethics & Compliance Lead – India

ICC India is the largest and fastest-growing center, playing a strategic role in driving digital innovation and operational excellence.
The ICC DE&C Lead – India is a full-time embedded role responsible for leading Takeda’s global Ethics & Compliance program at ICC India. This position will drive cultural integration, risk mitigation, and values-based decision-making while serving as a strategic advisor to local ICC India leadership. The role is also part of the ICC India leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making and cultural alignment.
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
Ethics & Compliance (E&C) acts as a Business Partner to ICC India and DD&T teams to establish and embed ethical principles and risk-resilient ways of working.
The ICC E&C Lead will:
Serve as a cultural integrator, ensuring Takeda-ism and the PTRB model (Patient–Trust–Reputation–Business) are reflected in the local ecosystem and is actively engaged in onboarding new employees and contractors into the ICC
Build and operationalize a fit-for-purpose compliance framework tailored to local regulations and organizational context
Strengthen psychological safety, speak-up culture, and ethical decision-making across all levels
Act as the first-line E&C partner for local teams and bridge ICC operations with global compliance priorities
RESPONSIBILITIES
Be a trusted ethics partner to the ICC India leadership team, ensuring alignment between local execution and global E&C frameworks
Lead the local implementation of Takeda’s Global E&C Program, including controls, monitoring, risk assessment, and cultural enablement
Serve as the local owner of conflict of interest (COI) disclosures, policy communication, and issue resolution in collaboration with the global COI team
Monitor local legal and regulatory changes, partnering with Legal and HR to ensure readiness and compliance
Design and deliver ethics and values awareness sessions, local onboarding, and targeted training based on needs and risk areas
Foster the Values Ambassador Network at ICC India to scale peer-to-peer influence and build grassroots ethics engagement
Support psychological safety by embedding mechanisms for open dialogue, speak-up culture, and issue escalation
Provide localized input to policy implementation, SOPs, and training, ensuring relevance and effectiveness
Collaborate with the DD&T Global DE&C team to support learning plans and thematic risk mitigation initiatives
Represent ICC India in the ICC DE&C Advisors Network and contribute to global capability building. The role will actively collaborate with global DE&C teams to share insights, align on priorities, and contribute to global capability building.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 in ethics & compliance, risk, audit, or legal roles
Experience in global matrixed organizations, ideally in pharma, tech, or life sciences
Strong knowledge of Indian legal and regulatory frameworks (e.g., anti-bribery, data privacy, whistleblower protection)
Proven experience operationalizing compliance programs and cultural change initiatives
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s in law, business, or a related field preferred
Fluency in English required; working proficiency in regional languages (e.g., Hindi, Kannada) is a plus
