About the role:
As a Performance Tester in the In-Center Capability within the Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit, you will independently oversee all aspects of quality assurance, ensuring each software product adheres to the highest standards and meets specified requirements. Your contributions will be crucial in enhancing our testing methodologies and maintaining standard operating procedures. Collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders, you will design and execute test cases and scenarios that cover functional, non-functional, and negative aspects.
By planning, execution, and reporting of testing activities to ensure the product / feature meets all specifications and requirements, this role directly contributes to PDT’s ability to harness data effectively, enhancing decision-making capabilities, and ultimately, competitive advantage in the market. You will be adopting cutting-edge technologies and methodologies which will help Takeda drive innovation, adapt to new opportunities, and continuously evolve in an ever-changing business/technological landscape.
This position will align to Testing and Validation chapter of the ICC and initially report to the Functional Delivery Lead for strategic direction as well as day-to-day management until the role of QA Lead is filled within Takeda ICC, post which the reporting and managerial responsibilities will be transitioned accordingly.
How you will contribute:
- Ability to independently own and execute the tasks assigned while providing assistance to junior team members as required
- Ensure high quality outputs incl. assuming responsibility for the work of junior team members
- Understand project architecture to assist in defining performance test scope.
- Lead any POCs required for new applications to test performance.
- Develop detailed test plans based on requirements and design specifications.
- Write detailed test cases and scenarios based on requirements and design documents.
- Execute manual and automated test cases, report defects, and track them to closure.
- Review scripts and plan and perform execution.
- Be able to define success and failure of test based on monitoring.
- Define monitoring strategy based on application architecture and client-side monitoring.
- Assess application / system / infrastructure logs.
- Work closely with development, product, and business teams to understand requirements, design effective test strategies, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, and defect reports.
- Perform regression testing to verify that new code changes do not adversely affect existing functionalities.
- Stay updated with the latest testing tools, frameworks, and best practices. Participate in improving the testing process and workflows.
- Communicate test results, progress, and risks to stakeholders, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Manage multiple QA teams effectively, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Should be able to work out of the box to solve issues arising during scripting and execution.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a QA, with hands-on expertise in manual testing methodologies & practices.
- Data & AI orientation: Demonstrated ability to interpret and work with data (e.g., dashboards, reports, data quality concepts) and understanding of AI/ML fundamentals to adapt to emerging technology trends, identify opportunities for intelligent automation/insights and make data-informed decisions.
- Good knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and QA processes.
- Good understanding of distributed load testing.
- Able to perform root cause analysis.
- Experience with test management and defect management tools like JIRA (Qtest is a plus).
- Strong SQL skills to query databases to validate data and back-end functionality.
- Good knowledge of Agile methodology.
- Knowledge of Git code versioning.
- Good knowledge of REST APIs.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to handle multiple QA teams and demonstrate team management skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to articulate issues and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred requirements:
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes (using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Familiarity with DevOps principles and how testing fits into the pipeline.
- Experience with mobile testing tools like Appium.
- Sound knowledge about JMeter, OctoPerf and Load Runner.
- Knowledge of cloud-based systems like AWS is a plus.
- Experience in Test automation, especially with tools like Tosca or any similar automation tool, is desirable.
- Understanding of the specific domain (e.g., healthcare, finance) can be beneficial.
- Familiarity or hands-on exposure to agentic/GenAI capabilities including understanding of use cases, configuration, governance, and safe adoption in enterprise environments.
