About the role:

We are looking for a senior Scrum Master with exposure to Business Analysis to drive In-Center domain products deliverables within the Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit. In this role, you will drive Agile best practices, facilitate sprint execution, create and manage JIRA boards and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders to align business priorities with technical execution while ensuring a smooth and transparent Agile delivery process. We are seeking an experienced and talented individual that can help Takeda enhance productivity and efficiency when performing distributed delivery model.

In addition, you will mentor and coach team members in Agile delivery, building a team culture of growth and development. This role will work closely with the Product team located in US and Delivery team located in India. This role will align to the Transformation enablement chapter of Takeda ICC.

This position will report to a PDT Delivery lead for strategic direction and day-to-day management.

How you will contribute:

Agile Facilitation & Team Enablement

  • Strong leadership with a people-first, empowering mindset
  • Manage and facilitate Agile ceremonies, including PI planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews/Demos, Sprint Retrospectives, Backlog refinement, Sprint Priority Review and Project Review
  • Coach and ensure the team follows Agile best practices, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Understand the blockers and remove impediments to enable efficient sprint execution and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize Product backlog for PI commitment and Sprint Backlog for Sprint planning to align on business and technical objectives.
  • Facilitate Backlog refinement with Product Owner and Team on stories acceptance criteria
  • Play key role in facilitating PI Planning sessions, breakout sessions, track dependencies, risks, engages team in discussion, assess PI objectives, identifies team capacity constraints, ensures the team tracks towards the committed PI objectives, regular status updates to leadership.
  • Able to manage scrum of scrum, cross team coordination. Guide team through ROAM (Resolve, Own, Accept, Mitigate).
  • Continuous improvement action plans from retrospectives

Capacity & Priority Planning

  • Manage PI planning, sprint capacity planning, ensuring appropriate allocation of tasks while preventing overloading.
  • Support estimation, sprint commitments, velocity tracking, and capacity planning
  • Lead team discussions on high-priority upcoming demand and new project work.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

  • Act as a bridge between Business, Product and Delivery team to ensure alignment.
  • Own and prepare data driven reports, presenting Agile team progress to leadership.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies and coordinate with external stakeholders.
  • Maintain transparency with effective communication on sprint outcomes, blockers, and dependencies.
  • Assist Program Lead, Delivery lead, Product Owner and Product engineers with regular reporting on project updates and highlights
  • Encourage collaboration between Global DD&T , engineering, QA, architecture, and business teams.
  • Facilitate release planning, production deployments, and go-live readiness.

Jira & Confluence Administration

  • Proficient with creating and maintain JIRA dashboard with Key KPI’s/measures for delivery tracking and reporting
  • Track progress using Agile metrics (burndown, burnup, velocity, cycle time).
  • Ability to identify opportunities in existing JIRA/Confluence setup and collaborate with platform team for needed enhancements
  • Familiar with AI features with Atlassian products like JIRA and Confluence. Example, ‘Ask Rovo’
  • Maintain Agile workflow configurations and documentation structures to improve team collaboration.
  • Own access control and permissions for required tools, ensuring team members have the required access.
  • Standardize JIRA reporting across products within In-Center domain

Proactive Risk Management

  • Promote early issue detection through Agile ceremonies (e.g., retrospectives, risk assessment workshops)
  • Facilitate Risk identification, escalation, and resolution.
  • Proactive problem-solving and escalation handling

Product & Business Analysis Responsibilities (Preferred)

  • Translate business needs into clear and actionable user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria for data-focused teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and business leaders to define and refine the product roadmap.
  • Ensure data governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements are embedded within the team’s Agile processes.

Driving Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Foster a culture of innovation within Agile teams by encouraging experimentation, process improvements, and adoption of new technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance Agile workflows, automate manual processes, and optimize data-driven decision-making.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration or a related field (MBA degree preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in application development and delivery, with strong SDLC expertise and demonstrated cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, UX, QA, and DevOps teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.) and Agile best practices.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, backlog refinement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Agile reporting tools.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into actionable Agile deliverables.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and operate as a leading member across globally distributed teams to deliver high-quality services and solutions.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Background in Business Analysis or Product Ownership.
  • Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
  • Understanding of EKS, CI/CD, Microservices.
  • Experience working with QA automation and test frameworks
  • Knowledge of ITIL / release management practices.
  • Experience working in Lifesciences with a focus on data governance and compliance.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, SAFe SM, or equivalent certification).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business priorities.
  • GxP implementation experience in regulated environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including storytelling and interacting effectively with multifunctional teams and other strategic partners.
