About the role:
As a Senior Business Analyst in the Marketing Automation and CDP space within the Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit, you will independently serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams performing a cross section of 2 roles – Sr Business Analyst, Scrum Master for the Marketing Team. Your contributions will be crucial in understanding business needs, gathering requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and facilitating communication.
By gathering requirements and facilitating cross-team communication between business and IT teams, this role directly contributes to PDT’s ability to harness data effectively, enhancing decision-making capabilities, and ultimately, competitive advantage in the market. You will be adopting cutting-edge technologies and methodologies which will help Takeda drive innovation, adapt to new opportunities, and continuously evolve in an ever-changing business/technological landscape.
This role requires a strong technical as well as functional background, leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset to drive the project to success. You will establish and enforce best practices and ensure alignment with critical project/business objectives. You will also be instrumental in fostering a culture of technical and functional proficiency, mentoring a team of business analysts.
This position will align to Agile chapter of the ICC and initially report to the Functional Delivery Lead for strategic direction as well as day-to-day management.
How you will contribute:
- Basic configuration of Salesforce Marketing Cloud – data extension, OOTB reporting, journey flow and automations
- Gather requirements by understanding & assessing user needs, objectives & pain points
- Translate business requirements into clear functional / technical specifications including clear use cases, user stories, workflows, design documents and similar documents
- Work closely with key stakeholders, including directly with customers
- Highlight / identify gaps in existing functionality / user requirements
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) efforts, including test case development, test execution, and issue resolution
- Participate in solution design sessions providing insights and recommendations to ensure the proposed solutions align with business needs
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements validation, testing, and deployment
- Conduct impact analysis to assess the implications of proposed changes on existing systems, processes, and data
- Participate in Agile development process and contribute to sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Develop change rationale and perform scoping assessments to determine the feasibility of potential changes
- Collaborate extensively across the organization, keep abreast of industry trends, continuously learn and adapt to new tools and techniques, and contribute to process improvement efforts
- Ensure quality oversight and compliance by adhering to regulatory standards and implementing quality control measures.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to the BA team, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Marketing, or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in Business Analysis / as a Functional Analyst, with a focus on gathering requirements and designing solutions
- Extensive knowledge and experience in managing JIRA
- Certification in SFMC: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist or Consultant certification a strong plus
- Experience configuring basic SFMC setup
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle, tools like Microsoft Visio, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
- Understanding of requirements, use cases, and specification for features
- Familiarity with project management methodologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks effectively
- Strong relationship building and team collaboration skills
Preferred requirements:
- Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or any other Marketing Tool like Pardot, Eloqua
- Knowledge of marketing automation tools and best practices
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Familiarity with design thinking methodologies, enabling the application of human-centered approaches to problem-solving, ideation, and innovation processes
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA)
