Senior Product Owner

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Product Owner to lead the development and continuous improvement of our data ecosystem, in either a data domain or a data platform role. The ideal candidate will ensure timely delivery, coordinate releases, conduct stakeholder analysis, and ensure data products or data management capabilities meet user needs, quality standards, and business goals. This role also includes maintaining data products post-launch, addressing user issues, and ensuring continuous product improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Development

  • Experience in delivering data management capabilities in data lakes or data warehousing platforms
  • Develop and articulate a clear product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Assist in breaking down requirements for complex solutions to domain-specific data product offerings and describe benefits and features as they relate to comprehensive customer journeys.
  • Prioritize product features for the product roadmap in collaboration with development teams.
  • Write and manage a backlog of user stories, prioritizing items to achieve business goals.
  • Lead the team through defining product requirements, ensuring they are complete and consistent.
  • Ensure the team correctly understands the requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with business, engineering, and design.
  • Align timelines, dependencies, and scope with the scrum master, engineering manager, and design leads.
  • Participate in planning sprints to reaffirm priorities and confirm requirements.
  • Steering and participation of Agile methodology (e.g. scrum calls, sprint review, etc.)
  • Oversee continuous improvement efforts.
  • Interact with other teams for cross-team task implementation.
  • Develop and execute a strategic customer engagement plan.


2. Release and Deployment Management:

  • Develop detailed release plans and/or data domain roadmaps.
  • Implement or follow continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Ensure successful product releases.


3. Post-Launch Maintenance and Improvement:

  • Implement structured processes for collecting and addressing user feedback.
  • Conduct regular performance audits and stress tests to ensure digital health product reliability.
  • Monitor digital health product performance metrics and user satisfaction scores.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for maintenance procedures, updates, and best practices.
  • Provide training and support materials for customer support teams.

Specialized Skills:

  • Understanding of:
    • Data architecture (data lakes, warehouses, pipelines)
    • ETL/ELT processes
    • Data modelling basics (dimensional modeling, schema design)
  •  Familiarity with tools:
    • SQL (strong working knowledge expected)
    • BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
    • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Data governance concepts:
    • Data quality, lineage, cataloging
    • Privacy and compliance (GDPR, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Ownership.
  • 4+ years of experience in a Lean/Agile development environment.
  • Experience with digital health products or in the healthcare sector is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
