About the role:

As a Senior Software Developer in the Donor Engagement Platform (DEP) space within the Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit, you will focus on development and enhancement of DEP web applications and mobile apps (Android and iOS) built on ReactJS for the front-end and Node.js for the back-end. The web application is hosted on the Heroku platform and utilizes services like Heroku Redis, Heroku Kafka, Heroku Postgres, and Heroku Connect. Additionally, the DEP system uses DRUPAL as a Content Management System (CMS) and integrates with Google Analytics and Google Tags. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset to drive the project to success.

Your role also involves the optimization of solutions for performance, reliability, and scalability, while also implementing robust audit, monitoring, backup, and archival solutions to support compliance. Collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders, you will translate business needs into effective technical solutions, maintaining continuous dialogue with both business and IT teams to ensure robustness, accuracy and consistency.

By designing and implementing sophisticated solutions, this role directly contributes to PDT’s ability to harness data effectively, enhancing decision-making capabilities, and ultimately, competitive advantage in the market. You will be adopting cutting-edge technologies and methodologies which will help Takeda drive innovation, adapt to new opportunities, and continuously evolve in an ever-changing business/technological landscape.

This position will align to chapter of the ICC and initially report to the PDT Delivery Lead for strategic direction as well as day-to-day management until the role of Technical Lead for DEP is filled within Takeda ICC, post which the reporting and managerial responsibilities will be transitioned accordingly.

How you will contribute:

  • Lead core execution teams, providing clear direction and effective delegation.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, facilitating their development and addressing any concerns.
  • Serve as a vital link between the execution layer and the management layer, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.
  • Lead and mentor a team of developers, providing technical guidance and ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Oversee the development and enhancement of web applications, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable architectures for web applications and event-based systems.
  • Conduct regular code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and security.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other stakeholders, to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all development processes, architectures, and code.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure scalability.
  • Drive major incident situations and debug major incidents to arrive at resolutions faster.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a similar field required. Master's degree in a similar field would be a plus
  • 5-8 years of experience in full stack development with a focus on JavaScript frameworks.
  • Strong experience with ReactJS/ React Native and NextJS, including components, hooks, and state management.
  • Proficiency in Node.js, Nestjs and ASYNC API Knowledge.
  • Experience with Front-end Technologies such as HTML5, CSS.
  • Experience with developing mobile applications using Xcode and Android Studio for Android and iOS.
  • Good understanding of incident priorities, SLAs, and the importance of timely response to alerts and business emails.
  • Good understanding of ticketing tools, preferably ServiceNow.
  • Proficiency with Git or other version control tools like GitHub Advanced Security.
  • Strong understanding of data management, segmentation, and Personalization techniques, and Meta CAPI for cross-cloud integrations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred requirements:

  • Experience with deploying and managing applications on the Heroku platform, including services like Heroku Redis, Heroku Kafka, Heroku Postgres, and Heroku Connect.
  • Familiarity with JFrog for artifact management, New Relic for application performance monitoring, and Paper Trail for log management is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Librato for metrics and monitoring, GraphQL for API development is necessary.
  • Experience with DRUPAL or similar content management systems.
  • Experience with Google Analytics and Google Tags.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Familiarity with agile development practices like Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Basic understanding of UI/UX principles and experience with design tools.
  • Experience with project management tools like Jira or Trello.
