Role Summary

Vault Configurator with strong expertise in translating business and scientific requirements into precise, compliant system configurations supporting Pharmaceutical R&D processes. Responsible for designing and implementing Vault objects, workflows, lifecycles, metadata, and security settings to enable efficient document and data management across Clinical, Regulatory, and Quality domains.

Works closely with business analysts, product owners, and technical teams to validate requirements, maintain configuration documentation, and support platform releases. Ensures configurations are scalable, audit-ready, and aligned with GxP, data integrity, and validation expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Configuration & Customization

• Configure and customize Vault applications to meet business requirements while adhering to platform standards and best practices.
• Translate functional specifications into Vault configurations including objects, fields, workflows, lifecycles, metadata, and security settings.
• Design scalable configuration components supporting R&D business processes and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements Validation & Collaboration

• Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and technical teams to validate requirements and deliver accurate configurations.
• Participate in solution discussions and provide configuration feasibility recommendations.
• Perform impact analysis for new configurations and enhancements to minimize disruption to existing processes.

Release & Environment Support

• Support scheduled platform releases by assessing feature impact, applying configuration updates, and validating system readiness.
• Assist with sandbox activities, configuration migration, and deployment validation.
• Contribute to controlled change management processes within regulated environments.

Documentation, Compliance & Validation

• Maintain detailed configuration documentation, traceability matrices, and design artifacts to support audits and inspections.
• Ensure adherence to GxP, data integrity, and Computer System Validation (CSV) standards throughout configuration activities.
• Support validation deliverables including configuration specifications, test evidence, and change documentation.

Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement

• Troubleshoot configuration issues and provide timely resolution in collaboration with technical and support teams.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend improvements to configuration design and processes.
• Identify opportunities for automation and standardization across Vault configurations.

Integration & Data Alignment Support

• Support configuration aspects of integrations with CTMS, eTMF, LIMS, and Regulatory systems.
• Ensure metadata and configuration structures align with enterprise data and process standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Life Sciences, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

• 3–6 years of experience configuring Vault solutions within Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical environments.
• Hands-on experience supporting Clinical, Regulatory, or Quality Vault implementations.
• Experience working in validated and regulated R&D environments.

Must-Have Skills

• Vault Administration Certification
• Strong expertise in object and workflow configuration
• Lifecycle and security configuration design
• Impact analysis and change assessment methodology
• Knowledge of GxP, CSV, and data integrity principles

Good-to-Have Skills

• Audit trail monitoring and traceability management
• Technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis
• Sandbox management, deployment, and migration support
• Platform release impact assessment and validation
• Familiarity with Vault API, SDK, or integration frameworks

Soft Skills

• Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Analytical problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work in Agile or hybrid delivery environments.
