We are currently seeking for a Head of Data & Insights (m/w/d) to be based in our country organization in Berlin.

OBJECTIVES

  • Drive data-driven patient/HCP/product insights in LOC and acts as a trusted insights partner for all functions
  • Act as customer domain data owner and drive the execution of data strategy and standards in LOC
  • Represent LOC in the EUCAN customer domain data governance council and supports the shaping of future standards
  • Drive thought leadership and advanced analytics and data driven customer engagement (e.g., next best action) in close collaboration with BUs, NGCE and other cross-functional team members
  • Provides guidance and input for EUCAN on shaping patient data and RWE domain

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise

  • Develop capabilities within the team, manages resources and priorities
  • Operationalize the EUCAN data strategy and governance framework by addressing LOC needs, ensuring compliance, and optimizing data utilization across functions.
  • Accelerate Digital & Insights (D&I) capability across the LOC, creating a strategic roadmap and implementing initiatives that drive transformation, including data management, data governance and advanced analytics – AI/ML.
  • Develops and executes clear and practical plans based on key priorities that will accelerate the organization towards achievement of its goals
  • Embed a Data & Insights mindset shift across the LOC, transitioning from a support function to a strategic enabler for commercial and medical teams.
  • Support business planning and forecasting process (MRP, MYC, LRF) with business units
  • Drive the deployment and adaption of enterprise-wide D&I tools (e.g., Enterprise Data Backbone, Power BI) to enhance data accessibility and visualization across the organization

  • Ensure market research and competitive intelligence initiatives align with strategic priorities and generate actionable insights for brand teams and leadership.
  • Provide executive-level insights and analytics summaries to inform key decision-making at TLT and LOC levels.
  • Define and lead the Data Science & Advanced Analytics strategy for the LOC, ensuring alignment with GPD and LOC priorities to drive data-driven decision-making and innovation.
  • Develop a robust data architecture that supports scalability, interoperability, and seamless integration of multiple data sources, ensuring a strong foundation for analytics and insights.
  • Support ad-hoc insights Leadership TEAM
  • Partner on any additional I&A needs/tools/dashboards

Leadership

  • Lead the Data & Insights (D&I) team, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and excellence in analytics.
  • Define and execute a comprehensive Data & Insights strategy, ensuring alignment with GPD priorities and long-term business objectives.
  • Drives thought leadership and advanced analytics and data driven customer engagement (Todai) in close collaboration with BUs, NGCE and other cross-functional team members
  • Drive organizational change management efforts, ensuring that data-driven insights become central to decision-making processes across all functions.

Decision-making and Autonomy

  • Lead the execution of the Data & Insights strategy, making high-impact decisions that shape the future of insights within the organization.
  • Own and manage the local data structure, ensuring data integrity, governance, and accessibility for strategic decision-making.
  • Solve complex business challenges through data science, predictive modeling, and AI-driven insights, enhancing commercial effectiveness and patient-centric strategies.

Interaction

  • Act as a trusted strategic insights partner for commercial, medical, and corporate functions, translating data into actionable business strategies.
  • Represent the LOC in the EUCAN/GPD communities and forums, including Data & Insights EUCAN Leadership Team & EUCAN/GPD Data Governance Forum.
  • Own and optimize third-party data partnerships and sourcing (e.g., IQVIA, Insight Health) to ensure high-quality market intelligence and analytics capabilities.
  • Collaborate with global and regional teams to ensure seamless integration of local and GPD-wide data strategies.

Innovation

  • Defines how to operationalize EUCAN data strategy and data governance taking into account LOC needs and pain points
  • Responsible for implementation of strategy
  • Drive benchmarking initiatives to assess best practices in data utilization, analytics maturity, and digital transformation across the industry.
  • Define and implement Data science methodologies, including Churn (retention), MMM, NBA and CES methodologies, ensuring the organization remains ahead of market trends.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and analytics platforms to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of insights generation.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS: 

  • Min. 5 years of experience leading data and insights roles and/or responsible for innovation, consumer activation or insight-led digital transformation, data science or equivalent
  • Experience with building and deploying D&I capabilities and competencies across an organization
  • Relevant SFE experience in Healthcare sector
  • Strong knowledge of data ecosystems and advanced analytics methodologies
  • Be the leading expert on D&I and has demonstrated innovative mindset and technical expertise
  • Bachelor’s, ideally master’s degree in e.g., Business Administration or a comparable degree
  • Very good knowledge of English and German
