Job Description

This is a joint internship with The Center for Post-Approval Safety Studies (CPASS) and Clinical Science within the Marketed Products Development (MPD) function. CPASS is responsible for the design, execution, and oversight of global post-marketing safety studies including Post-Authorization Safety Studies (PASS) and Post Marketing Surveillance (PMS) Studies. CPASS has broad reach and partners with functions across R&D, Safety, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs to generate real-world evidence that supports product safety and regulatory commitments. The MPD Clinical Science function leads post-marketing clinical strategy and execution, including interventional trials for pediatric development, label enhancements, new formulations or doses, and geographic expansion. The team conducts post-marketing requirement and commitment studies to ensure continued availability of safe and effective medicines, working in close collaboration with a broad range of functions across Takeda.

MPD sits within Global Medical (GM), which is part of the Global Portfolio Division (GPD).

How You Will Contribute:
As an MPD CPASS and Clinical Science Intern, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support the oversight of post-marketing safety study commitments.

  • Support the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documents related to post-marketing safety studies.

  • Contribute to cross-functional meetings by preparing slide decks, summaries, and action trackers.

  • Support the review of study protocols and study-related documentation for quality and compliance.

  • Assist in ad-hoc projects to streamline operational processes and improve team efficiency.

  • Under the guidance of the Clinical Science Lead, you will:

    • Attend team and cross-functional meetings to gain exposure to Clinical Science, MPD programs/products and other functions (e.g. clinical operations, biostatistics, regulatory affairs, clinical pharmacology, etc.).

    • Support monitoring of ongoing studies and study completion activities (e.g., data review, results and report review).

    • Contribute to literature reviews, if assigned, and other project work.

Job Requirements:

  • This position will be Hybrid (8+ days per month in office) out of the Cambridge, MA location.

  • Must be pursuing a Masters or Doctoral degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences, Biostatistics, Health Policy, or a related field.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

Internship Eligibility

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later 

  • The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)  

  • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames  

  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates  

  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
