Job Description
About the role:
The Associate Director, P2P Operations will serve as the US operational lead and subject matter expert for professional engagements, enabling compliant, efficient execution of HCP and patient speaker programs, speaker trainings, advisory boards, and consulting engagements across all brands
Reporting into the Sr Dir, Event Execution, this role will lead a team of P2P professionals responsible for providing operational oversight for FFS engagement processes, including approvals, screening, contracting, vendor support, reporting, and compliance monitoring for speaker programs, advisory boards, and consulting engagements.
How you will contribute:
- Lead the optimization of the operating model for professional engagement activities across the end-to-end process, raising solutions to challenges and adjusting to leadership direction and environmental factors
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, setting clear expectations, providing ongoing feedback and support, and driving accountability for individual and team performance.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for brands and internal partners, providing strategic and operational expertise to ensure compliant and effective execution of P2P engagement activities
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Takeda policies, SOPs, compliance standards, benchmarking, and industry best practices, offering guidance to ensure all P2P engagements meet regulatory and ethical requirements.
- Oversees enhancement efforts and improvement initiatives, driving implementation efforts to improve speaker and attendee experiences while maximizing operational efficiency. Measures success through defined KPIs such as participant satisfaction, issue resolution time, process cycle time, and operational cost savings.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of comprehensive resource materials, including FAQs, work instructions, and training guides, to drive operational excellence, consistency, and scalable execution across teams.
- Lead the team responsible for creating detailed reports and tools for stakeholders, ensuring deliverables are suitable for executive audiences and provide actionable insights to inform decision-making, measure operational performance, and support strategic planning.
- Lead strategic discussions with internal and external stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and align business needs with organizational strategy, ensuring effective governance and seamless execution of brand initiatives.
- Direct cross-functional collaboration between brands, Ethics & Compliance, Legal, and external vendors, ensuring alignment across all partners and leading the team responsible for supporting these activities.
Basic Qualifications:
Required:
5+years of experience in pharmaceutical/biopharma field operations, medical affairs, or commercial program management.
Experience leading P2P programs, advisory boards, or speaker programs, with demonstrated ability to engage and influence leaders and other key stakeholders
Strong understanding of compliance regulations, with awareness of the broader industry landscape and how evolving market, regulatory, and stakeholder dynamics shape compliance priorities
Proven ability to influence cross-functional partners, build alignment across stakeholders, and drive multiple concurrent initiatives to successful outcomes
Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency with CRM, event management, and reporting tools.
Preferred:
Advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, or related).
Experience with large-scale, multi-region P2P programs.
Familiarity with analytics to measure field impact and ROI.
Experience in centralized U.S. Customer Engagement or Commercial Operations function
Demonstrated people leadership experience, including performance management, coaching, and supporting employee development
Demonstrated experience in executive-level communications, including preparing clear, concise materials for senior leaders and tailoring messaging for executive audiences
Limited travel up to 10% to support stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, and business meetings.

Massachusetts - VirtualU.S. Base Salary Range:
$154,400.00 - $242,550.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives.
