Job Description
About this role:
In this role, you will be at the center of driving innovation and operational excellence, shaping the future of Takeda’s global publication systems and technologies. You will be responsible to develop and deliver consistent digital and technical approaches contributing to the roadmap for several systems related to Data, Insights, Business Intelligence and Analytics, working on multiple internal platforms in a highly complex environment. By integrating compliance, strategic alignment, and cutting-edge solutions, you will enhance system design, accessibility, and business support, while leading transformative initiatives that support groundbreaking scientific publications and communications across the organization.
Accountabilities
Publication management system and related interfaces
- Perform business administration tasks in the publication management system and related platforms.
- Serve as the Global Publications CoE lead for publication management system solutions, creating a roadmap aligned with business needs.
- Collaborate closely with IT teams and vendors to enhance service levels and resolve issues effectively.
- Monitor data quality within the system and recommend/implement necessary remediation measures to ensure compliance.
- Support Global Publications CoE initiatives by providing design recommendations, user setup, data extraction, testing, and creating user guides as needed.
Innovation and technology projects
- Lead assigned projects, working closely with internal/external teams and key stakeholders to ensure innovation project delivery within the set timelines and scope.
- Collaborate with IT groups, Medical Communications CoE and other groups to deliver innovative solutions, including dashboards, HCP gateway, and analytic tools.
- Deliver technology initiatives in and agile environment in collaboration with a broad range of stakeholders
- Monitor (external) technology advancements, and knowledge management best practices and recommend innovative solutions
- Work with stakeholders to transform business needs into analytics tools and innovative services, ensuring Takeda’s CoEs maintain a best-in-class standard.
Communication tools
- Develop communication and content sharing platforms to support the delivery of the Global Scientific Communication mission and vision.
- Design robust system reports to support business needs and provide publication-related insights.
- Gather feedback from stakeholders about operations, platforms, and tools to make necessary improvements.
- Collaborate with Global Scientific Communications CoE teams to address data quality tasks, leveraging tools like automation to ensure efficiency.
Competencies and Skills:
Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise
- Advanced expertise in IT systems and technologies including NLP, AI, automation, Veeva, and publication management system(s), search engines, digital delivery channels and other principles of app and software development
- Strong skills in software development life cycle, agile methodologies, and system roadmaps for business needs.
- Competence in content management, automation tools, and data quality assurance to maintain compliance and performance standards.
- Proficiency in key tools like Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365) and search and analytics technologies.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Proven ability to lead global, cross-functional teams and manage external vendors to deliver projects successfully.
- Strategic thinker with experience developing innovative roadmaps to support systems and technology solutions.
- Collaborates effectively with stakeholders at all levels, adapting communication styles across hierarchies and cultural contexts.
- Partner with Analytics, Data Science, Data Architecture, and other Technical Program Management team members to develop, test, and deliver high quality data products and features that can be easily consumed in across Takeda Publication groups worldwide

Education and Experience
- University degree of information technology/data science: Advanced degree is a plus (Master/MBA and/or PhD), e.g. in Engineering, Mathematics, IT with focus on Information/Operation, Technology and Innovation Management
- Minimum 7 Years experience in maintenance of data systems; product development (in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry preferable)
- Analytical skills (problem solving, business process analysis, process mapping)
- Ability to work independently and deliver business objectives and priorities
- Experience to lead internal and external teams to deliver projects successfully.
- Understanding of content management concepts and technology (iEnvision preferred)
- Experience with application of Microsoft Office tools (Office 365)
- Project management skills
- Patience, diplomacy and listening skills.
- Experience working on global initiatives with colleagues of diverse cultures and expertise
- Curiosity and constant willingness to learn and grow in new areas of expertise
- Written and oral communication skills (occasional presentations, interactions with all levels of hierarchy, with various geographical areas)

Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$168,700.00 - $265,100.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
