Job Description

About the role:

Join Takeda as a Counsel, Plasma-Derived Therapies Business Unit where you will work closely with business leaders and external partners to achieve PDT’s goals while proactively identifying emerging risk and opportunity areas. You will support Global PDT with a focus on R&D and our US  BioLife Plasma Services operations. As part of the Legal Counsel team, you will report to Lead Counsel for US BioLife and PDT R&D.

How you will contribute:

  • ·Advise on a diverse range of strategic PDT initiatives.

  • Counsel US BioLife operating in 37 states on a variety of legal issues confronted by a highly regulated industry that is open to the public. Additionally, partner with EU BioLife colleagues when needed

  • Provide management of litigation and disputes, in cooperation with Takeda’s Litigation department, outside counsel, and other partners.

  • Review materials developed by the Commercial, Marketing, Communications, Investor Relations, and Public Affairs teams.

  • Support PDT R&D in product development and launch preparation.

  • Provide contractual support to clients, in collaboration with global Contract lawyers.

  • Collaborate with key functions, e.g. Compliance, Privacy, Business Development, IP to provide integrated business counseling.

  • Possess a willingness to learn about all areas of law, particularly the plasma industry.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Law degree and qualified to practice and in good standing in at least one jurisdiction

  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably at a highly regarded law firm and/or an in-house pharmaceutical or biotechnology company. Those with litigation, commercial, regulatory, and/or privacy backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

  • Have familiarity with general antitrust laws and experience analyzing regulations.

  • Have experience with the promotion of pharmaceutical products, bringing products to market, and relevant laws (e.g. FCA, AKS).

  • Have experience in dispute and litigation management.

  • Possess a high level of commitment to Takeda’s values and strong strategic acumen, collegiality, emotional intelligence, and communication kills

  • 5-10% travel may be required

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$169,400.00 - $266,200.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
