Job Description
The Director, Advanced Analytics and Data Science is responsible for performing complex data research and analysis to support business operations. By creating data mining architectures, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies, this role helps identify trends in large data sets and informs business decisions.
OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE
Define and lead advanced analytics strategy that delivers actionable insights and AI/ML-driven personalization to drive Oncology US objectives.
Oversee development and application of marketing mix modeling, ROI analysis, and omnichannel optimization to maximize promotional effectiveness and customer engagement.
Design and implement scalable AI/MLpredictive analytics solutions (e.g., next-best-action, next-best-channel, advanced targeting) for HCP, patient, payer, and medical engagements.
Enable data-driven decision-making through robust, complaint, and production-ready models embedded in business workflows through close collaboration with cross-functional partners
Foster a culture of high-performing, collaborative analytics that partners effectively with commercial, medical, digital, DD&T, and finance teams and adeptly influences without authority
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Define and lead the advanced analytics strategy to align with Oncology BU goals, balancing short-term impact with long-term capability-building (inclusive of preparing and evaluating a dedicated offshore analytics team)
Design and deliver marketing mix models, ROI analysis, and omnichannel optimization to inform investment decisions and maximize customer engagement effectiveness.
Design and operationalize advanced AI/ML solutions (e.g., next-best-action, segmentation, targeting) to enable scalable, compliant personalization across HCP, patient, and payer engagements.
Drive experimentation with novel data sources and advanced modeling approaches, including GenAI, to enhance precision, relevance, and self-serve analytics capabilities.
Establish and monitor meaningful KPIs and ROI metrics to evaluate and continuously improve the impact of AI/ML initiatives.
Translate complex analytics and model outputs into clear, actionable insights and recommendations that enable senior leadership decision-making and drive commercial excellence.
Foster strong cross-functional alignment and collaboration by partnering with marketing, digital, DD&T, finance, and medical teams to embed analytics-driven decision-making.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, inclusive analytics team—comprising indirect and offshore professionals—while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Work closely with analytics and marketing communities to quantify the ROI of AI/ML-driven personalization initiatives.

REQUIREMENTS
Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ Years experience in insights, analytics, or strategic planning roleswithin the Pharmaceutical or biotech industrywith 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML modeling
Proven track record leadinganalyticsin amatrixorganization
Strong technical expertise in machine learning, NLP, recommendation systems, and AI personalization use cases.
Proficient in tools and languagessuchas Python, R, SQL, Spark, and familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with commercial pharma data (e.g., Sales, Claims, EMR, CRM, digital engagement platforms etc.) and strong understanding of compliance and privacy considerations.
Hands-on experience with marketing mix modeling, multivariate regression, time series analysis, and other statistical techniques
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex patient insights to non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects.
Excellentstrategic thinking capabilities with ability to synthesize large amounts of information and translateinto clear strategicobjectives

Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$174,500.00 - $274,230.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
