Join Takeda Oncology as the Head of Field Reimbursement, where you will be responsible for developing and carrying out the US Oncology Business Unit's (USOBU) field reimbursement director team strategy across the USOBU portfolio. In this role, you will lead the Field Reimbursement Team, ensuring alignment with access and reimbursement strategies, while also serving as a key liaison between Patient Services and the field team.
How you will contribute:
- Lead and develop the USOBU Field Reimbursement organization by setting
objectives, providing coaching and training, and managing performance. - Translate national access and reimbursement strategy into actionable field strategies and tactics.
- Provide customer insights from the Field Reimbursement team to Patient Value & Access leadership, brand teams, and senior leadership to help inform strategy and navigate access barriers.
- Oversee the development of the Field Reimbursement Directors' capabilities,
competency models, and specialized training to enhance the team's effectiveness and impact. - Collaborate with Patient Services leadership to ensure HUB operations and support programs align with the needs of field reimbursement.
- Building and maintaining strong interactions and partnerships with other departments, including Sales, Marketing, Strategic Accounts, Medical, Patient Advocacy, Policy, Legal, and Ethics & Compliance, to ensure alignment on brand access priorities and business needs.
- Benchmark against industry best practices to ensure Takeda’s field reimbursement approaches are best-in-class.
- Play a role in product launches and strategic planning, ensuring that Field
Reimbursement is fully integrated into the USOBU’s commercial strategy. - Ensure fiscal accountability, resource management, and vendor oversight for field reimbursement operations.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on payer policy, specialty distribution,
reimbursement models, and medication access in oncology. - Support and foster education on the reimbursement and access landscape for
internal partners with insights and guidance. - Adhere to Takeda Oncology Compliance guidelines.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, Graduate degree preferred
- At least 10 years of experience in the biotech or specialty pharmaceutical industry required.
- 5 or more years of experience in Field Reimbursement Management or similar
leadership roles required. - Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams required.
- Understanding of the oncology market and experience with field reimbursement support, access, product coverage, and reimbursement for pharmacy benefit platforms required.
- Knowledge and experience in US healthcare reimbursement, including Medicare (A,B, D), Medicaid, commercial payer policies, buy-and-bill, specialty pharmacy, copay programs, and HUB services required.
- Demonstrated success in cross-functional leadership and the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Experience with oncology or specialty product launches, ideally for both oral and injectable products.
- Communicates complex information clearly, confidently, and with influence.
- Skilled at working across functions, geographies, and cultures to align stakeholders and drive results.
- Exceptional communicator—able to persuasively convey ideas and data both
verbally and in writing. - Build credibility and confidence internally and externally through effective
teamwork and leadership. - Distills complex issues into simple, actionable insights.
- Travel Requirement- 25-30%, required as needed for HQ meetings, customer meetings, and professional conferences.

Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$174,500.00 - $274,230.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
