Job Description
Join Takeda as a Lead - Neuroscience Primary Market Research and CI out of our Cambridge, MA office. Where you will serve as Neuroscience’s senior leader responsible for understanding customers, markets, competitors, and emerging trends. This role blends deep expertise in primary research methodologies with the strategic acumen required to build a world‑class competitive intelligence capability. The ideal candidate is a visionary insights leader who can translate complex data into compelling narratives that influence strategy, innovation, and commercial performance. The director partners closely with Marketing, Market Access, Forecasting, Data Sciences, Medical, Finance, and Field Leadership to shape commercial strategy for both in‑market and pipeline assets.
This is a high‑visibility role requiring deep therapeutic understanding, strong business acumen, extensive knowledge of available research methodologies and the ability to create compelling narratives.
How you will contribute:
- Define and evolve Neuroscience’s integrated insights strategy across primary research and competitive intelligence
- Partner with senior executives to identify knowledge gaps and shape a research and CI agenda aligned with enterprise priorities.
- Lead a team responsible for market research including study design, vendor selection, fieldwork logistics planning and management, analysis of findings, creation and presentation of final reports
- Develop a framework of primary market research and competitive intelligence tools and trainings to deepen capabilities across the team, increase innovation and improve research processes and vendor management
- Champion new approaches and techniques to acquire a deeper understanding of physician, patient, and other stakeholder behaviors, needs, and motivations and introduce best in class methodologies
- Determine the best research methodology based on the objectives of the studies and prioritize the work of direct reports to ensure timely completion
Foster Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Act as a strategic partner to product, marketing, strategy, innovation, and commercial teams to embed insights into decision‑making.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, translating research and intelligence into strategic recommendations.
- Manage relationships with external research agencies, CI vendors, and data partners.
- Collaborate with Analytics Peers and Centers of Excellence
Minimum Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced degree (Master's in business, marketing, data science or engineering) preferred.
- 10+ years of experience responsible for data-driven decision making, management consulting or related functional experience within the bio-pharmaceutical industry required.
- Neuroscience experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence and implementation of GenAI solutions.
- Demonstrated leadership in a matrix organization, able to motivate and inspire team members to high performance levels.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate insights and translate strategy into action; excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks
- Demonstrated ability to create an environment that inspires and enables people to move the organization forward.
- Expert in delivering persuasive presentations and mentoring others in presentation skills
- Proficient in the use of business intelligence tools to support data-driven decisions
- Proven experience leading and developing high performing teams, driving strategic initiatives, and managing cross-functional projects.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare analytics, including experience with patient claims data, market access and sales analytics.
- Experience managing complex projects with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and goals.
- Vendor and budget management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, fostering strong relationships across departments.
- Ability to identify challenges and develop innovative solutions
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and evolving technology landscapes.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional domestic overnight travel may be required

Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$177,000.00 - $278,080.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
