• Drive adoption of improved processes, tools, and cultural practices for data stewardship.

• Serve as a bridge between business functions, research scientists, IT, and data governance groups.

Technical Systems Support

• Develop working expertise in research data systems (e.g., ELN, LIMS, compound registration, SDMS, data catalogs).

• Demonstrate familiarity with both internal and external sources of data (e.g., CROs).

• Support scientific teams with implementation, configuration, and integration of these systems.

• Provide training, documentation, and day-to-day guidance for system users.

• Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with IT/vendors to resolve problems quickly.

Data Quality & Integrity

• Monitor data quality across systems, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective actions.

• Implement best practices for metadata capture, versioning, lineage, provenance, and traceability.

• Ensure data processes support reusability for analytics, AI/ML, and regulatory submissions.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure research data handling aligns with internal policies, IP protections, and regulatory requirements.

• Support audits and inspections with accurate, well-documented data management practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Information Management, Bioinformatics, or related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in data stewardship, data management, or research informatics in pharma/biotech.

• Technical experience with research systems (ELN, LIMS, compound registration, or related platforms, specifically Benchling & TetraScience products).

• Ability to quickly learn new informatics tools and help others adopt them effectively.

• Strong communication skills to work across scientific, business, and IT teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting data systems implementations or upgrades in research environments.

• Familiarity with APIs, data integration workflows, or scripting for data extraction/transformation (e.g., Python, SQL, R).

• Knowledge of ontologies, controlled vocabularies, Global Unique Persistent Resolvable Identifiers (GUPRI), and scientific data modeling.

• Experience with change management or process improvement methodologies.

• Skilled in facilitating dialogue between stakeholders with differing priorities, ensuring mutual understanding and alignment.
