THE OPPORTUNTY
We’re looking for a Data Scientist to turn pharmaceutical manufacturing data into actionable insights. You’ll develop AI/ML models, predictive monitoring tools, and AI-enabled digital twins that optimize processes and ensure high product quality. At Takeda, you will work on cutting-edge AI/ML applications that directly impact product performance, quality and patient supply. You will collaborate in a forward-thinking, innovative environment and see your models make real-world impact on manufacturing processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and deploy AI/ML models for forecasting, anomaly detection, and process optimization.
- Write testable, versioned, packaged and clean Python code. Unit/integration testing; CI/CD (GitHub Actions/SonarQube) to Databricks jobs or containerized services; observability (logging/metrics/traces) and model monitoring and re-training.
- Work with manufacturing and laboratory datasets and handle continuous data through applying time-series analysis and signal processing.
- Collaborate with manufacturing science engineers, scientists, and IT to integrate models into workflows.
- Create dashboards and visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science, or STEM (Chemical/Biochemical Engineering a plus).
- Strong ML/AI experience (Classical ML: KNN, SVM, Random Forest/GBMs etc.). Deep learning: CNNs/RNNs/GRU, autoencoders, Backprop/Autodiff
- Time-series and signal processing expertise; experience with noisy/high-dimensional data ( state‑space/Kalman, spectral methods, autoregressive model, change point control)
- Python and SQL proficiency; experience with MLOps platforms (Databricks, MLflow, AWS).
- Strong communication skills to convey insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with pharma, biotech, or chemical manufacturing datasets.
- Familiarity with workflow automation/orchestration tools (Airflow, n8n) and cloud deployment (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure ML, AWS Sagemaker).

Salary: As a motivated employee, you should be compensated appropriately. The minimum salary for this position is € 3.083,33 per month (full time), but your final remuneration package may be higher depending on your qualifications and experience.
