The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team and take the lead in creating high-quality, user-centric documentation for a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The ideal candidate will have expertise in documenting integration processes, workflow interfaces, and technical features for developers, users, and administrators.

Key Responsibilities:

Integration Documentation:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive API documentation, SDK guides, and integration manuals for LIMS system interfaces.
  • Collaborate with developers and engineers to accurately document integration capabilities with third-party systems.
  • Create step-by-step guides for configuring and troubleshooting integrations between LIMS and external systems (e.g., ERP, instruments, and databases).

Workflow Interface Documentation:

  • Document LIMS system workflows, including UI/UX interactions, process automation, and data flow diagrams.
  • Explain the setup, customization, and usage of workflow interfaces to users and administrators.
  • Produce quick start guides, user manuals, and reference material to support workflow optimization.

Collaboration & Research:

  • Work closely with software engineers, QA teams, and system architects to gather technical information.
  • Conduct interviews with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) to understand complex processes and translate information into clear documentation.
  • Test workflows and system features to ensure high accuracy and relevance of documentation.

Quality Assurance:

  • Review and edit technical documents for completeness, clarity, and consistency.
  • Ensure all materials adhere to industry standards and best practices in technical writing.
  • Maintain documentation versions and updates in a centralized documentation platform.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in technical writing, with strong knowledge of LIMS or similar systems.
  • Familiarity with integration technologies (e.g., REST APIs, SOAP, middleware).
  • Solid understanding of workflow processes, data visualization, and interface design.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to break down highly technical topics into user-friendly language.
  • Proficiency in using documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Confluence, or Microsoft Word along with diagramming tools like Visio or Lucidchart.
  • Basic understanding of programming concepts, databases, and system architecture is a plus.

Salary

As a motivated employee, you should be compensated appropriately. The minimum salary for this position is € 3850 per month (full time), but your final remuneration package may be higher depending on your qualifications and experience.
