Job Description

Job Title: HR Business Partner- Egypt & Algeria

Location: Egypt

About the role:

The HR Business Partner for Egypt & Algeria acts as a strategic partner to business leaders, supporting the design and execution of people strategies aligned with local needs and broader regional goals. The role provides hands-on HR leadership while driving talent development, organizational effectiveness, and cultural initiatives across both countries.

How you will contribute:

Strategic Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to country GM and leadership teams, providing guidance on all HR-related matters.

  • Drive people strategies in alignment with business priorities and the regional & global HR agenda.

  • Partner with business leaders to develop workforce plans, succession strategies, and organizational design.

Talent & Development

  • Lead and support local execution of talent review, performance management, and development planning.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to ensure effective hiring and onboarding processes.

  • Drive career development and learning initiatives tailored to local capabilities and needs.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Champion employee engagement initiatives and foster a culture aligned with company values.

  • Act as a cultural ambassador, ensuring local practices reflect our inclusive, purpose-led approach.

  • Conduct regular employee check-ins, focus groups, and listening sessions.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee HR processes and policies in Egypt and Algeria to ensure compliance with local labor laws and global standards.

  • Support compensation and benefits processes, including merit reviews, promotions, and benchmarking.

  • Lead employee relations matters and ensure timely resolution in line with company policies.

Collaboration & Regional Alignment

  • Act as a liaison between country teams and regional/global HR functions.

  • Contribute to HR projects across EAMEA region as needed.

  • Share best practices across borders and promote synergies between Egypt and Algeria.

Recruitment & Staffing

  • Manage all recruitment activities across Egypt and Algeria in close coordination with the local PRO and in alignment with Takeda’s talent acquisition standards.

  • Own the end-to-end recruitment and selection process, ensuring a seamless candidate and hiring manager experience.

  • Leverage Takeda’s global HR tools and resources—particularly Workday—as the primary platform for job postings, candidate management, and reporting.

  • Lead or support onboarding efforts to ensure a smooth integration of new hires and reinforce alignment with organizational values and objectives.

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Plan and deliver engaging new employee orientation sessions to foster a strong connection to the organization’s values and objectives.

  • Coordinate all logistics related to onboarding to ensure a smooth and professional experience for new joiners.

  • Conduct exit interviews to gain insights into reasons for employee departures and identify potential areas for improvement.

  • Maintain and update HR records and systems to accurately reflect all employee lifecycle changes, including new hires and exits.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Prepare employment offers for new hires, internal transfers, promotions, and other organizational movements.

  • Ensure timely and accurate management of monthly payroll, including validation of salary changes, allowances, and deductions.

  • Oversee the processing of Short-Term Incentive Plan (STIP) and Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) in alignment with global timelines and guidelines.

  • Track and report monthly headcount data and support personnel cost budgeting in coordination with the Finance team.

  • Apply annual merit increases in accordance with approved compensation cycles and policies.

  • Manage and review payroll for contingent workers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Own the end-to-end payroll process, including timely updates of salaries and allowances following changes or promotions.

Policies & Regulations

  • In coordination with the PAG team, ensure local implementation and adherence to global HR policies and frameworks.

  • Draft, review, and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with both local labor laws and global standards.

  • Provide employees and candidates with clear information on HR policies, job responsibilities, working conditions, compensation, career development opportunities, and benefits.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to line managers, supporting them in the effective understanding and application of HR policies and procedures.

  • Champion a culture of inclusion, promoting diversity, equity, and fairness across all aspects of the employee experience.

HR Operations

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all HR-related queries, providing timely and effective support to employees and managers.

  • Ensure execution and continuous improvement of all core HR processes and day-to-day operations.

  • Manage and maintain HR systems including accurate tracking of leave, routine system updates, and data integrity.

  • Oversee leave management processes, performing regular audits and updates to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Maintain up-to-date and complete employee files, ensuring all required documentation is properly filed and stored.

  • Prepare HR-related documents such as salary certificates, NOCs, and other materials required by govern-mental entities.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and procedures.

  • Handle internal transfers (both in and out), ensuring timely system updates and completion of necessary documentation.

  • Ensure full compliance with local labor laws, regional requirements, and internal HR policies and standards.

What you bring to Takeda:

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 4–6 years of progressive HR experience, ideally including both generalist and business partnering roles.

  • Prior experience managing multi-country scope is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of Egyptian and Algerian labor laws and HR practices.

  • Fluency in English and Arabic; French is a plus.
