Job Description
The ShinrAI center of AI/ML supports AI/ML development for Takeda R&D. We develop technologies to accelerate innovation and help drive business decision making.
This Machine Learning Pipeline Development Intern will primarily focus on building scalable and robust model evaluation pipelines to support the diverse range of biological data and problems encountered in R&D. The intern will work closely with technology partners as well as business stakeholders to understand each use case as well as the impact of the efforts on drug discovery.
How You Will Contribute:
Duties may include the following, under the manager's supervision
Interface with various groups to understand modeling and evaluation needs.
Develop model evaluation pipelines that can be applied to a diverse set of problems.
Internship Development Opportunities:

Develop software engineering expertise in building scalable ML pipelines
Gain a better understanding of the diverse range of ML problems in the pharmaceutical space.

Job Requirements:
Pursuing a bachelors degree in related field
A strong foundational knowledge in software engineering.
A base knowledge of ML development and evaluation pipelines.
Experience curating, managing, and manipulating data.
Comfortability with python.
Curiosity and willingness to learn about a diverse range of problems
Ability to be on-site in Cambridge at least 2 days a week.
Internship Eligibility
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later
The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)
The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames
Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates
Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

Cambridge, MAU.S. Hourly Wage Range:
$21.00 - $46.00
The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
