Job Description

Join Takeda as the Sleep Disorders Franchise Marketing Launch Internwhere you will be responsible for helping to develop and pull through marketing materials to prepare for a best-in-class launch. The Marketing Intern will partner with the broader team to develop and execute strategic marketing plans as part of the Orexin Brand Team, you will accomplish this through collaboration and strategic discussion with the end goal always being to win for patients. We are seeking a highly motivated Marketing Intern to support the launch of Oveporexton, a first-in-class orexin receptor 2 agonist, within Takeda’s Orexin Franchise. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a transformative therapy aimed at redefining the standard of care for narcolepsy type 1 (NT1) patients. As part of the Marketing team, youwill report to the Associate Director, Brand Strategy and HCP Marketing. 

Role Overview:

  • Own the ongoing development of HCP tactics by creating exceptional user experiences for the brand leading to the achievement of business goals and objectives. 

  • Contribute to HCP campaign planning development, channel strategy, execution and measurement of campaigns for the Sleep Disorder franchise. 

  • Build awareness through owned, earned and paid digital media channels, partnering with the Digital Team for best-in-class execution. 

  • Ensure performance, integrity and measurability of marketing ecosystem across both branded and unbranded campaigns. 

  • Develop measurement plans and continuously monitorcampaigns performance across channels. Evaluate, test and optimize, report on campaigns performance and translate data into actionable insights to enhance customer experience.

  • Act as day-to-day lead in the implementation of key promotional materials, partnering with multiple internal stakeholders and external agencies. 

  • Form and maintain strong partnerships with cross-functional business partners including Consumer Marketing, Digital Team, Communications, Advocacy, Patient Services, Market Access, DDT and Medical. 

  • Manage agencies, holding them accountable to Takeda USBU policies, standards, timelines and budgets.

  • Manage annual promotional budget for projects within scope of responsibility.

  • Navigate campaigns through medical, legal, regulatory reviews.

  • Proactively recognize industry/competitive trends to identify brand growth opportunities and identify industry and internal best practices to build organizational capability.

  • Innovate and evaluate marketing opportunities and capabilities that support strategic imperatives. 


How You Will Contribute:

  • Assist in the creation, adaptation, and deployment of branded materials across HCP and patient channels 

  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders on launch readiness activities

  • Participate in weekly brand team meetings and contribute to strategic discussions around positioning, stakeholder engagement, and patient experience

  • Track timelines and deliverables for launch marketing initiatives

  • Support FY27 Brand Planning

Internship Development Opportunities:

  • Strategic Exposure to Brand Launch through immersion in the launch planning process for Oveporexton, gaining firsthand experience in: Brand positioning and campaign development, disease state education and messaging strategies and cross-functional collaboration. This exposure fosters a deep understanding of how pharmaceutical brands are brought to market and the strategic imperatives that guide launch success.

  • Hands-On Marketing Execution by creating and adapting branded and unbranded materials for HCP and patient audiences. Supporting launch efforts by partnering with the brand and agency teams to tracking timelines and deliverables for assets. These tasks build core marketing competencies, including project management, content development, and stakeholder alignment.

  • Structured Learning & Mentorship the internship includes: a well-defined structure with clear objectives and learning outcomes. Regular feedback and guidance from assigned mentors and managers. Participation in internship speaker series and career development workshops. This framework ensures you are supported and challenged, helping to grow professionally.

Job Requirements:

  • This position will be Hybrid (1-3 days in the office/week) at 500 Kendall Cambridge, MA.

  • Must be pursuing a Master’s Degree in Business

  • Ability to think big picture but also manage execution of multiple tactics by engaging key stakeholders within Takeda and with agency representatives. 

  • Team player who is readily willing to help other strategic marketers. 

  • Comfortable and energized operating in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Intellectually curious and passionate about data and insights. 

  • Proven self-starter with a desire to grow and expand marketing skills.

Internship Eligibility

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later 

  • The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)  

  • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames  

  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates  

  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
