Job Description
About the role:
The Associate Director, Access Marketing Capabilities and Development, offers a unique opportunity to shape the access experience for an important launch and Takeda’s first commercial footprint in Dermatology. As a key member of the Dermatology brand team, you will lead strategies that enhance Takeda’s capabilities to meet the dynamic access needs of the Dermatology community. You will define the capabilities, systems and strategic partnerships that equip our organization to market with agility and sensitivity in plaque psoriasis, a highly managed and competitive therapeutic area.
You will report to the Director, Head of Access Marketing
How you will contribute:
Capabilities Planning
- Lead design, implementation and evolution of novel capabilities to monitor, interpret and communicate the access environment for plaque psoriasis in the US
- Lead and implement multi-channel promotional strategies supporting product access
- Create access-intentional learning objectives for market research, competitive intelligence and industry trend tracking
- Manage product planning, development, and P&L activities in partnership with marketing counterparts
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Set objectives, delegate tasks, and ensure operational success, with reviews by senior management
- Influence organizational goals and policies through strategic marketing initiatives
- Independently develop and communicate value propositions and business cases in routine and moderately complex situations with minimal guidance
- Influence organizational goals and maintain frequent communication with peers and customers
- Demonstrate strong understanding of promotional channels that impact product access
Systems and Partnerships
- Lead business development activities, including the development of alliance, channel, and network partnerships where supportive of product access
- Lead workstreams to synthesize and deliver integrated insights and promotional resources
- Champion enterprise opportunities to evolve access experience and capabilities
- Manage creative agency and other vendor partners to develop effective deliverables
- Demonstrate strong understanding of market access data environment, and diverse approaches to deriving insights to guide commercial priorities
- Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills with a high level of influence and trust
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, including coachability, receptiveness, responsiveness, and flexibility in interacting with both internal and external collaborators
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- 8+ years of commercial biopharmaceutical experience, including substantial expertise in market access-related channels
- 2+ years in leadership roles with increasing responsibility, demonstrating progressive experience in marketing, analytics, market access and/or consulting within the biopharmaceutical industry
- Experience leading strategic initiatives with enterprise-level visibility and impact
- Experience guiding brand operations, systems and performance management
- Fully independent in influencing others, capable of applying advanced techniques in complex situations and leading strategic initiatives
- Independently applies managed care concepts in routine situations, with a comprehensive understanding of its principles and minimal guidance
- Must have strong leadership skills with an ability to set direction, generate commitment, identify, and resolve issues, and evaluate risk
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams, with a proven ability to influence without authority
- Must have organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, learning agility, financial management, and budgeting capabilities
- Willingness to travel to various internal and external meetings and conferences that could include overnight stays ranging from one to several nights. Weekend travel may be required.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree in business administration, pharmacy, or health economics
- Professional certification(s) in Agile, Scrum, Six Sigma or other applicable project management methodologies
- Experience managing media planning, analytics and strategy
- Experience in the Psoriasis (PsO) therapeutic market
- New product launch experience
- Experience working with US drug channel stakeholders, such as payers, PBMs, IDNs and GPOs
- Experience working with and interpreting access-related data streams
- In-depth knowledge of buy-and-bill reimbursement models and payer dynamics
The ideal candidate will be skilled in using AI tools to drive efficiency and innovation

USA - MA - Cambridge - Kendall Square - 500U.S. Base Salary Range:
$153,600.00 - $241,340.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
