About the role:
Global Insights Lead, Nephrology (Associate Director) – Reporting to the Global Insights & Analytics Head, this role is responsible for leading insight generation and competitive intelligence for a nephrology-focused pipeline asset, with potential expansion into transplant and other related indications. As a key member of the Global Commercial Team and the Global Insights & Analytics organization within Takeda’s Strategy & Portfolio Development function, the individual serves as a trusted strategic partner, delivering actionable, decision-oriented insights that inform clinical development and early commercialization strategies. The role supports critical decisions related to study design, endpoint selection, and product positioning by integrating market data, stakeholder perspectives, and competitive intelligence. Additionally, the position collaborates across indication teams to ensure aligned franchise strategies and leverages prior commercialization and launch experience to enhance launch readiness and capability development across the broader franchise.
How you will contribute:
Strategic Insights & Competitive Intelligence
Lead qualitative and quantitative research to understand treatment landscapes, unmet need, and treatment dynamics
Monitor competitors, pipeline developments, and evolving standards of care
Translate insights into clear implications and recommendations for cross-functional teams
Clinical & Commercial Strategy
Provide input to indication strategy, study design, endpoints, and positioning
Inform the Clinical Development Plan (CDP) and early commercial strategy with insight-driven perspectives
Support development of target product profiles (TPPs), business cases, and strategic narratives
Forecasting
Inform key forecast assumptions based on insights and competitive intelligence
Partner with forecasting teams to ensure alignment of inputs, assumptions, and outputs over time
Support scenario planning and stakeholder alignment
Cross-Functional Partnership
Serve as insights lead for transplant-related workstreams
Partner closely with R&D, Medical, Commercial, and regional teams
Communicate clear, data-driven perspectives to support decision-making
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor’s degree; MBA, PharmD, or PhD preferred
8–10+ years of experience in market research, insights, forecasting, analytics, or strategy
Background in strategic consulting or competitive intelligence strongly preferred
Experience supporting drug development and/or commercialization (launch or inline)
Experience owning and managing patient-based forecasts (inputs, assumptions, tracking overtime)
Demonstrated experience contributing to launch strategy or commercial readiness efforts
Strong analytical, synthesis, and communication skills
Experience in transplant, immunology, or specialty care a plus
Strategic and agile thinker who translates data and competitive intelligence into actionable strategy
Experience bridging clinical development and commercialization to inform decision-making across the asset lifecycle
Strong understanding of how to generate insights that impact both early-stage strategy and downstream execution
Experience managing and evolving patient-based forecasts
Ability to operate across indications and contribute to franchise-level thinking
Collaborative, influence-based leader comfortable operating in ambiguity
Travel Requirements:
Required up to 10%.

Cambridge, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$154,400.00 - $242,550.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
