Job Description

About the role:

Ethics & Compliance (E&C) focuses on what we need by partnering with the business stakeholders to help support an embedded ethics and compliance framework. Join Takeda as a Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) E&C Advisory Lead where you will implement E&C strategy for GPLS by influencing senior management and other partners to follow existing ethics & compliance principles and change behavior to new trends that Takeda establishes as best practice. As part of the Global Medical E&C team, you will report to Head of E&C Global Medical & GPLS.

How you will contribute:

  • Works with senior leaders and partners to align on, and implement, E&C controls to manage identified risks. A high level of collaboration and interaction with the regions, LOC’s and Global BUs/BFs will be a natural part of the role. Alignment with USBU, Global R&D, OBU, PDT, GEM, EUCAN and JPBU for country-based activities and policies is fundamental.

  • As GPLS focus both on inline and pipeline, the Director E&C GPLS will partner with GPLS teams to understand the R&D, Regulatory, Access and Commercialization strategies and ensure that risks associated with global deployment of these strategies are addressed at the earliest stages.

  • Innovation is an important part of GPLS strategy, in particular digital heath and multichannel,  therefore the Director E&C GPLS will collaborate with the responsible Innovation and Ethics of technologies team (part of the Global E&C).

  • GPLS will engage with HCP’s in multiple ways. The Director E&C GPLS will provide guidance on engagements to ensure compliance with laws and regulations and alignment with the Takeda ethical values and priorities. Close alignment and transparent communication with the Bus/BFs/LOCs E&C teams is required to ensure internal controls are in place to manage risk and guide efficiency in decision-making.

  • GPLS works with external and internal parties to find and promote new opportunities for expanding aspects of Takeda’s business, such as patient, payers and providers, partnerships, business developments, diagnostics, digital health, third-party management, etc. The Director E&C GPLS will provide strategic advice to GPLS teams and external parties. You will lead Due Diligence on Ethics & Compliance matters for strategic business development opportunities andbusiness leaders in discussions concerning risk exposure and assist them with making decisions that are in alignment with the Takeda values and priorities.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • 10-14 years Pharma/Healthcare experience with at least 8 of those in Ethics & Compliance related roles

  • Background in either healthcare compliance or other regulatory areas

  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical and/or device development

  • Bachelor’s degree required; relevant advanced degree

  • Experience aligning potential, present and future compliance risks related to the business, including risk identification, controls & risk mitigation of potential non-compliance

  • Senior expert in E&C matters with responsibility to define and align E&C strategy with the business. Embedded an organized E&C framework into teams

  • Lead global, strategic programs requiring engagement and management of multiple diverse teams

  • Experience with laws, regulations and industry guidance that affect the pharmaceutical industry including, but not limited to, FCPA, SFO, OIG, IFPMA, PhRMA & EFPIA guidelines, healthcare standard operating procedures, regulations governing drug and medical devices, anti-bribery laws, and state price reporting statute

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$169,400.00 - $266,200.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
