POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • Manage and execute contracts, including Master Agreements (MAs), Statement of Work (SOW), Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), etc., and amendments to these agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with Takeda's requirements and policies by managing all quotes from Contract Research Organizations (CROs) and ensuring proper terms and conditions.
  • Oversee proper purchase order (PO) approval and management, invoice reconciliation, and accrual reporting related to contracts.
  • Provide direction to business stakeholders for all phases of contract processing, including negotiation and execution of agreements per Takeda policies

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Collaborate with R&D business (requestor) to identify and define the specific goods and/or services required.
  • Convert demand specifications into contractable terms, coordinating with R&D, Legal, and GREFP staff as needed.
  • Validate contractually defined requirements with the requestor, while adhering to category strategies set by R&D and Procurement.
  • Ensure all R&D business requirements are well-defined and documented before drafting contracts.
  • Serve as a liaison between R&D business, Legal, and GREFP, ensuring clarity on supplier services provided.
  • Support R&D in managing and reporting contract-related activities, including MTAs, licenses, SOWs, POs, and consulting engagements.
  • Register and maintain third-party suppliers within Ariba and MDG systems.
  • Work collaboratively with Legal, Compliance, Procurement, and TBS to draft, negotiate, and execute appropriate agreements.
  • Manage quotes from Contract Research Organizations (CROs), ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, including Procurement Policy, TPRM Policy, Contract Policy, Signature Authority Policy, SOX requirements, and other relevant requirements such as quality and Sunshine Act compliance.
  • Oversee purchase order (PO) approvals, invoice reconciliation, and accrual reporting related to contracts, ensuring adherence to organizational policies.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, business administration, Contract Law, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract management, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry or a similar complex regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of contract law principles and best practices in contract negotiation and drafting.
  • Understanding of risk management principles as applied to procurement contracts.
  • Proven track record of independently accomplishing tasks from initiation through close out, including proactive follow-up with stakeholders to ensure completion
  • Knowledge and comfortable with information technology applications including but not limited to Ariba, ServiceNow and Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and SharePoint
  • Understanding of Healthcare Compliance, including U.S. Federal Sunshine Act, and general contracting processes and systems
  • Ability to effectively manage projects and contracts in a global matrix/team environment
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

For Location:

USA - MA - Cambridge

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$111,800.00 - $175,670.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S.based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
