Business Account Manager – PDT Public

Location: Chennai

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Super Speciality, medical sales person to drive sales, patient impact and performance across the state. This individual contributor role requires working extensively with major state and central government hospitals, healthcare bodies such as the National Health Mission (NHM) and other key stakeholders. The role combines disease awareness initiatives, medico-marketing activities, and strong sales management to ensure growth and impact across a large geography.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Impact
    • Achieve sales targets by ensuring timely purchase orders from government and private institutions and converting them into sales.
    • Drive patient-centric initiatives and ensure access to super speciality therapies.
  • Government & Institutional Engagement
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders), KBLs (Key Business Leaders), state/central health authorities, and purchase committees.
    • Engage with government institutions, tendering bodies, and NHM programs to drive access and uptake directly or with the respective teams.
  • Medico-Marketing Activities
    • Organize disease awareness campaigns, CMEs, workshops, and medical activities in treatment centres in collaboration with doctors and institutions.
    • Partner with marketing and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful patient and doctor engagement initiatives.
  • Stakeholder & Distributor Management
    • Work closely with distributors to ensure smooth supply chain and availability.
    • Collaborate with marketing, operations, tender, supply, administration, and GIB teams for execution excellence.
  • Market & Business Development
    • Identify opportunities across large geographies and implement strategies for business growth.
    • Continuously monitor competitor activities and provide actionable insights.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • 5–10 years of experience in speciality or institutional sales, preferably in government accounts..
  • Proven ability to manage state-wide territories and work as an individual contributor.
  • Strong sales, negotiation and brief tender management skills.
  • Excellent communication, managerial, and leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build deep KOL/KBL relationships and influence decision-making in government/ institutional settings.
  • Strong team player mindset with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the region
