About the Role

In this role, you will help deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services across the United States and Canada while supporting a portfolio that includes multiple entities and complex payroll activities. You will be part of a team that enables a positive employee experience by ensuring payroll processes run smoothly and issues are resolved effectively. Your work will contribute to high-quality payroll operations through detailed validation, reconciliation, and continuous process improvement. In addition, you will help ensure the effective management of equity transactions, relocation reporting, and international mobility payments, supporting consistent and accurate payroll outcomes across the organization.

How you will contribute:

  • Coordinate end-to-end payroll operations across assigned United States and Canada payroll portfolios through approved systems and external providers.
  • Validate payroll and employee data by reviewing earnings, deductions, taxes, statutory contributions, benefits, time records, equity transactions, and employee changes.
  • Perform reconciliations and payroll controls to support accurate processing, off-cycle payments, year-end activities, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Investigate and resolve complex payroll issues by identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and escalating significant risks when needed.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to address payroll matters, maintain service quality, and ensure timely issue resolution and follow-through.
  • Support payroll technology and process changes through testing, implementation activities, system updates, and responsible use of approved automation tools.
  • Drive process improvement and knowledge sharing by identifying opportunities to simplify workflows, reduce recurring errors, and provide guidance to colleagues.
  • Manage mobility, relocation, and equity payroll activities by coordinating reporting, assignment-related payments, and compliance-related payroll adjustments.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • 3 to 5 years of payroll experience, including payroll processing and payroll operations support.
  • Demonstrated experience processing payroll for both the United States and Canada.
  • Experience resolving payroll issues and supporting accurate end-to-end payroll operations.

  • Experience using payroll and workforce management systems, including UKG or Kronos.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for payroll analysis, validation, and reconciliation activities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Fluent English proficiency.
