Job Description
At Takeda Grange castle, we offering the successful candidates a great opportunity to join our Electrical Instrumentation Apprenticeship Programme in our plant in Grange castle. This is a four-year apprenticeship programme run in conjunction with SOLAS. The apprentice will work with the multiskilled Maintenance and Engineering team and be mentored throughout the apprenticeship.
Takeda Grange castle ( TILGC) is a multi-purpose Pharmaceutical site, Producing a range of innovative products. As an apprentice you will have the opportunity to learn your trade, developing your skills in Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation as you work across the different areas of the facility.
This apprenticeship program consists of four on-the-job training modules at our facility in Grange castle, Co. Dublin and three off-the-job training modules which may take place at a SOLAS Training Centre and/or designated Institute of Technology based around the country. The modules are usually alternating, and the apprentice must be able to attend the designated training centre for off-the-job training. The duration of the program will be four years but may extend into a fifth year depending on availability/timing of the off-site training modules.
Responsibilities include:
The chosen candidates would typically perform the following activities (but not exclusively):
- Provide general support to the on-site Maintenance and Engineering personnel in daily routine and non-routine tasks.
- Provide support to the Calibration team in performing routine calibration of onsite instrumentation e.g. temperature, pressure, level, and flow sensors.
- Use of Safe permit to work system and LOTO to manage risk during engineering activity.
- Ensure that all maintenance activity is accurately documented on CMMS in accordance with cGMP regulations.
- Work as part of Utilities team to operate and maintain Electrical systems such as electrical distribution system, and Utility systems such as boilers and compressed air.
- Interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Electrical and other equipment drawings necessary for the maintenance and repair of all equipment onsite.
- Work with M&E teams in Filling and Inspection/Packaging areas to Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical system failures.
- Demonstrate systematic root-cause problem solving skills when working through issues.
- Perform equipment setups and checks along-side existing M&E technicians prior to commencement of manufacturing activity.
- Proficient use of Plant systems used daily to monitor and control operational activity e.g. DCS, BMS & CMMS, etc.
Entry Requirements:
Applicants must be at least eighteen years of age on or by 1st January, 2025. Placements will start in Mid 2025.
Successful candidates must pass at least five Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics, English and preferably one Technical/Science subject.
Persons who completed their Leaving Certificate in 2024 or 2025 are eligible to apply (results can be forwarded when available).
