As a company we offer roles based on merit, welcoming candidates of any gender, age, religious belief, sexual orientation, race, color, ethnic or social origin, or disability.

Our team is growing and for this we need bright minds with creativity and flexibility – what talent do you have?

About the role

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Oncology, you will serve as a trusted scientific partner to the oncology community across the Netherlands. You will build meaningful relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders, facilitate high-quality scientific exchange, and generate insights that help shape medical strategy and improve patient outcomes.

Working at the intersection of science, data, and innovation, you will play an important role in advancing Takeda's oncology portfolio by supporting evidence generation, informing strategic decision-making, and ensuring that patient needs remain at the centre of everything we do. This is a field-based role requiring travel across the Netherlands, with approximately 80% of your time spent engaging externally.

How you will contribute

  • Act as the scientific expert for Takeda's oncology portfolio and disease areas.

  • Build and maintain trusted partnerships with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders, and external experts.

  • Lead scientific discussions and communicate complex clinical data in a clear, balanced, and meaningful way.

  • Deliver scientific education through meetings, advisory boards, congresses, and other medical activities.

  • Gather and analyse insights on clinical practice, unmet patient needs, treatment trends, and the evolving healthcare landscape.

  • Translate field insights into actionable recommendations that inform medical strategy and business decision-making.

  • Support evidence generation initiatives, investigator-sponsored research, and clinical trial activities where appropriate.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional colleagues to contribute to medical plans, product lifecycle management, and launch readiness activities.

  • Leverage digital, omnichannel, CRM, and AI-enabled tools to enhance stakeholder engagement and insight generation.

  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with applicable regulations, ethical standards, pharmacovigilance requirements, and Takeda policies.

What you bring to Takeda

  • MSc degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related scientific discipline; MD, PharmD, or PhD preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison, Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, or related scientific role.

  • Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies, study design, and interpretation of scientific data.

  • Experience building productive relationships with healthcare professionals and external experts.

  • Ability to generate insights, think strategically, and translate scientific information into practical recommendations.

  • Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary and matrix organisations.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.

  • Digital proficiency, including experience working with CRM systems, analytics platforms, and modern engagement tools.

  • High ethical standards and commitment to compliance, quality, and patient-centricity.

  • Fluent English and Dutch skills.

Preferred

  • Experience within Oncology.

  • Experience supporting advisory boards, medical education initiatives, or evidence generation activities.

  • Familiarity with AI-enabled insight generation and digital engagement tools.

  • Launch experience is advantageous but not required
