Job Description

About the Role:

The Regional Business Manager will be responsible for driving franchise sales growth through the execution of sales strategies. This individual will collaborate with the Regional Business Lead and various customer-facing team members to ensure that patients are supported throughout their HAE journey. The role will drive demand-generation efforts by educating and informing healthcare professionals about Takeda brands used to treat appropriate patients with hereditary angioedema (HAE).

This position requires daytime and some evening/weekend activities, as well as the ability to manage the complexity of the HAE marketplace. The individual will work closely with matrix business partners to help ensure that patients receive appropriate access to therapy. The candidate must comply with all applicable policies and guidelines, maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, and demonstrate Takeda’s culture and values.

How You will Contribute:

  • This position will be responsible for all business-related activities within their geographic responsibility, including achievement of sales goals through executing brand strategies. The RBM call points will primarily focus on HCPs treating appropriate patients for Hereditary Angioedema as well as assisting healthcare providers with the education necessary to aid in early diagnosis and /or treatment.

  • In-depth business planning centered on pulling through National / Regional business strategies via local market analysis and historical analytics.

  • Strategically analyzes and applies market data to assess business opportunities and priorities, including relevant impact of regional healthcare market and patient dynamics.

  • Advanced customer engagement planning to create product and disease state awareness focused on a consultative needs-based selling that supports current and future customer needs. • Advanced customer engagement strategy focused on assessing customer needs and developing long term sales strategies to grow and diversify customer relationships.

  • Collaborates with the HAE cross functional team and matrix business partners to coordinate efforts, maximize impact and enhance business outcomes.

  • Partners with and motivates extended team members to improve performance, fostering a culture of engagement and accountability

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree

  • 5 or more years of direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in the pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or related healthcare industries required

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Must be able to demonstrate strategic territory management success

  • Ability to demonstrate a strong marketplace acumen

  • Understands payer access and reimbursement at assigned regional, state, and local levels

  • Demonstrated ability to work across various organizational functions

  • Demonstrated learning agility

Job Expectations/Travel:

  • Conduct patient and physician engagement on evenings and weekends, including the execution of Peer-to-Peer programming

  • Requirement to support conventions and meetings supporting Immunology

  • Up to 70% Travel Required

Training Requirements:

  • This position and continued employment is contingent upon the employee successfully passing mandatory product training which includes written and oral examinations.

  • External Takeda Hires Only: During that training period, the employee will be classified as a non-exempt employee and will be eligible for overtime during the training period only in accordance with applicable federal and/or state law but the employee will not be eligible for any Takeda related sales incentive programs and/or other production-based bonuses.  The training period will consist of live instruction, independent study, role play, and other training related activities which should take no more than 8 hours per day and 40 hours total in a work week. 

  • After successful passage of the mandatory product training examinations, the employee will be transitioned to exempt status and will no longer be eligible for overtime. They will then be paid on a bi-weekly basis and eligible to participate in various Takeda related sales incentive programs and/or contests.
