This role supports the Procurement Managers in the execution of sourcing activities to identify qualified suppliers who can meet Takeda’s operational and quality requirements at the most logical price. This role is focused on the end-to-end sourcing activities from the invitation of potential suppliers to participate in online RFx activities to the final award for the most suitable suppliers.
Engagement with stakeholders on related activities such as facilitation of vendor data management (such updating of suppliers’ information & supplier cleansing), establishment of e-catalogs and continuous improvements on the sourcing operations form part of this role.
This role is expected to support projects from the commercial offices and manufacturing plants in the Asia, including Oceania, China and Japan.
Key objectives include:
Engage with sourcing execution and enablement teams, R2O operations and Content, Catalogue and Contract management to plan supplier enablement activities.
Ensure appropriate supplier due diligence checks are performed at the supplier enablement stage as part of the pre-qualification process.
SPOC for (new) suppliers in the operational and technical onboarding process.
Oversee and manage the progress of supplier onboarding/off-boarding process within agreed timelines.
Lead and coordinate tasks with other TBS procurement solutions teams to ensure efficiency and quality of support.
Ensure security and confidentiality for Takeda when supplier relations and contracts are terminated.
Address / raise issues related to non-compliance to procurement and supplier management guidelines
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
Sourcing & Supplier Enablement Closely support and collaborate with the Strategic Procurement Managers to execute the end-to-end sourcing activities on demand. Ensure the enablement of invited suppliers for online RFx events participation and eventual award. Administer and host online RFx events (sourcing, auctions, etc) for identified sourcing projects. Ensuring the prepared price/proposal recommendations to the strategic sourcing managers are in order and within the stipulated SLAs. Lead cross-functional teams across different international Takeda entities to deliver global TBS initiatives.
Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Provide guidance to Global Procurement & Business Users on the appropriate buying channels to setup. Lead cross-functional teams across different international Takeda entities to optimize & harmonize current end to end procurement processes. Change management and guidance to internal business stakeholders on procurement process changes.
Supplier Management Ensure governance and roadmap development for different Takeda regions. Lead and coordinate onboarding tasks performed via/by other TBS Procurement Solutions teams from different regions to maintain overview and control. Conduct periodic review on the accuracy of supplier information as part of the suppliers offboarding / deactivation. Ensure supplier offboarding is complete with supplier – business user system access disabled from further transaction.
EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
ExperienceFamiliarity with sourcing and procurement procedures with at least 3 years of experience in procurement sourcing. Prior international experience in the conduct of online tenders and auctions. Experience in process optimization & continuous improvements is a plus.
Education / Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or finance/business or supply chain. Experience in working within an international/global remit across different cultures.
System / Software Competencies Prior operating experience with procurement platforms (SAP Ariba, SAP Ariba SCC modules and Archlet or Coupa). Advance proficiency in using Microsoft Office software (PowerBI, Excel, etc). Proficiency in automation tools (such as Power Automate) is a plus.
Language Competencies Exceptional command of Japanese, both spoken and written. Strong interpersonal (written and oral) communication skills in English. Language competencies in another Asian language is a plus.
Behavioural Competencies/Skills Strong data analytical skills and has proven quantitative abilities (e.g. cost modelling, price analysis). Excellent project and time-management, organizational and collaboration skills. Possesses keen eye for details with entrepreneurial mindset and spirit to create and innovate. Comprehensive understanding of all roles in TBS Procurement Solutions and interdependencies for delivery of global TBS initiatives. In-depth knowledge on local market requirement and legislations for processes and systems limitations. Solid knowledge of the buying channels available in the market and system requirements from a supplier’s perspectives.
