About the Role
The Associate Director,Federal Government Affairs(FGA)willcontribute to Takeda’s advocacy efforts and help execute strategies aligned with legislative and executive branch priorities.As a key internal expert on the external environment, this rolewillprovidestrategic insightsidentifyingthreats and opportunities related tocommercial, clinical, and operational practices.
The Associate Director, Federal GovernmentAffairswill collaborate withinternalteamsand external stakeholderstoadvance goodpolicy and mitigate against harmful ones, ensuring alignment with Takeda’s businessobjectives.Thisindividual willbe responsible forbuildinga variety ofstrong, meaningfulnetworks and staying current on critical policy issueswillfacilitatereadiness todeliver on Takeda’s mission and values.
How You Will Contribute
Support the development and implementation of strategies and tactical plans to influence Congress, the White House, and related agencies concerning Takeda priorities.
Assistin building professional networks with elected leaders and key stakeholders to promote access to innovativebio-pharmaceuticalsand Takeda’s presence as a leading pharmaceutical company.
Collaborate on external meetingsand advocacy efforts that strengthen Takeda’s federal relationships.
Provide input into lobbying efforts with Members of Congress, executive branch officials, and federal agenciesincluding executive engagement.
Contribute to cross-functional teams to helpidentifyrisks and opportunities for Takeda commercial, clinical, and operational practices.
Provide insights and recommendations on federal legislative, executive, and regulatory activitiesimpactingTakeda to support leadership decisions.
Monitor and report on legislative opportunities that align with business goals and recommendadvocacystrategies to influence legislation and agency actions.
Represent Takeda in relevant PhRMA work groups and trade associations to advance sharedadvocacyobjectives.
Collaborate with Takeda teams, includingStateGovernmentAffairs, Public Policy & Reimbursement, and Operations, to ensure alignment of strategic activities.
Manage external consultants on specific initiatives under seniorleaderdirection.
Enhance Takeda’s visibility in Washington, D.C., by supporting branding initiatives and policy advocacy efforts.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degreerequired
7+years experienceworking directly in an advocacy andpolicy-related fieldrequired
Talentednetworking skills andcompetentunderstanding of stakeholder dynamics affecting government policy.
Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesizeand adapt actions based on a fluidmacroenvironment.
Proventrack recordin developingand influencingpractical and implementable policy solutions.
Strong writing skills; a writing sample will berequired.
Experience in project management and directing the work of external consultants and stakeholders.
Ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and functions.
Demonstrated leadership skills, both with and without formal authority.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Willing to travel in the US up to 15%; minimal overseas travel if applicable

Lexington, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:
$153,600.00 - $241,340.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
