Job Description

The Labeling Management Group, within Supply Chain, helps Supply Chain Planning and Warehouse, and other site teams to identify and implement new primary, secondary, and tertiary labels on the production scale. We actively partner with Regulatory Affairs, Packaging Engineering, IT, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to drive development and implementation of new labeling at the local level. These initiatives continually improve overall operational efficiencies and industry artwork, adding value to our brand.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Labeling Intern to join the Supply Chain team at our Libertyville office location. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with label development and warehouse planning in the pharmaceutical industry and will be crucial in supporting labeling and warehouse projects.


How You Will Contribute:

As a Supply Chain Labeling Intern, you will have the opportunity to…

  • Support activities with product label development and implementation for the manufacturing site, including the launch of new carton labeling materials.

  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects by engaging with multiple teams within the business. You will gain experience working on projects that involve different stakeholders, offering a holistic view of labeling and its impact on business outcomes, both locally and globally.

  • Support Warehouse process improvements and development

  • Benchmark with Manufacturing Sciences, Engineering, and other Takeda sites to standardize material specifications by material type instead of individual label.

Internship Development Opportunities:

  • Direct Experience: Exposure to real-world product labeling projects, gaining understanding of the regulated process for creation of new pre-printed items such as film, cartons and patient inserts as well as other packaging components and how to manage materials in warehouse space

  • Mentorship and Networking: Direct mentorship from a Supply Chain Manager, along with opportunities to connect with other professionals in the pharmaceutical industry. Cross-functional collaboration with other departments at the site and global organization.

  • Skill-Building: Develop technical skills in project coordination, change control processes, Supply Chain material planning and handling, and exposure to digital graphic development. Learning industry-standard tools and best practices.

  • Project Ownership: Take responsibility for implementing label development projects, providing practical project management experience as well as streamlining material specifications for the site.


Job Requirements:

  • This position will be fully in office in the Libertyville office, with the possibility of travel to the Round Lake location

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Quality Management, Biotechnology Sciences, or related fields.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Basic understanding of computer skills including MS Office (PowerPoint, Words, Excel).

  • Internet skills including use of e-mails, group messaging and information gathering.

  • Highly organized, reliable, and a strong team player.

  • Flexible with an attention to detail.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Internship Eligibility

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship 

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree program graduating December 2026 or later 

  • The internship program is 10-12 weeks depending on the two start dates (May 26th-August 14th or June 15th- August 21st)  

  • The intern must be able to commit to one of these time frames

  • Able to work full time 40 hours a week during internship dates  

  • Takeda does not provide a housing stipend or relocation support for the U.S Summer Internship Program

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$21.00 - $46.00

The estimated hourly range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered will depend on the candidate’s school year/level to be entered following completion of internship.The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.

U.S. internship benefits vary by location and may include:
