About the role:

The Record to Report (RtR) Lead plays a key role in ensuring the completeness, integrity, accuracy and compliance of financial records for assigned Takeda entities, while maintaining a strong internal control environment.

Based in our Global Capability Center in Łódź, you will lead a team of accounting professionals and oversee the month-end close process across an international scope. Beyond operational delivery, you will help shape the future of the RtR organisation by developing high-performing teams, supporting transformation, and driving continuous improvement, digitalisation and automation. You will work closely with other regional RtR Leads and the R2R GPO to implement solutions and expand the capabilities of the Global Finance Centre of Excellence.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Lead and develop a team of RtR accounting professionals, creating a high-performing environment and supporting career development within the Global Finance Centre of Excellence.

  • Support the Global RtR Lead in delivering strategic Global Finance Centre of Excellence initiatives.
  • Optimise and develop the combined function by driving consistency, standardisation, efficiency and value creation.
  • Partner closely with regional RtR Leads to support the continued development and extension of the organisation's scope.
  • Work with the R2R Global Process Owner to effectively implement agreed solutions.
  • Lead and develop the team towards the next generation of Global Finance CoE capabilities, encouraging an enterprise mindset, innovation and high levels of engagement and productivity.
  • Partner with other Global Finance CoE functions and business leaders to advance digitalisation and automation, including the use of RPA and AI.
  • Resolve escalations and issues relating to operational delivery.
  • Cooperate with service providers and auditors.

What You Bring to Takeda:

  • Approximately 10 years of accounting and hands-on finance experience, ideally gained in a shared services environment within a large multinational organisation.
  • Strong experience with month-end close, balance sheet reviews and reconciliations in an international environment.
  • Solid knowledge of IFRS, combined with practical awareness of local GAAP differences across supported markets.
  • In-depth understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, with proven experience motivating, developing and leading high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through change, including organisational transformation or new system implementations.
  • Experience working with shared service centres, Global Capability Centers or cross-border finance teams within a multinational environment.
  • Practical experience with SAP, BlackLine, HFM or equivalent consolidation and reconciliation platforms.
  • Strong ERP and broader technology skills.
  • Fluent English at business level.
  • A professional accounting, audit or finance qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, certified auditor or equivalent is preferred or may be in progress.

What Will Help You Succeed:

You are an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with the ability to lead, motivate and develop people. You are comfortable working across borders and interacting with stakeholders at all levels of an international organisation.

You bring a practical and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to solve complex problems, think creatively and translate ideas into successful outcomes. Strong communication and influencing skills allow you to build relationships and achieve results across different teams and functions.

You are comfortable operating in a changing environment and actively look for opportunities to improve the way finance works. You understand how technology, digitalisation and automation can be applied to create better solutions, generate stronger insights and improve processes without compromising controls or customer delivery.

A strong customer-service mindset, resilience and the ability to remain effective during demanding periods will also be important.
